Trained UCCE Master Gardeners extend practical gardening and landscaping information to the residents of Imperial County. Each volunteer has completed a rigorous training program and has agreed to volunteer at least 50 hours back into the community during their first year of volunteering. This is followed by 25 hours of volunteering and 15 hours of continued education each consecutive year, after
their first year, to maintain the statue of an active volunteer. MG program priorities are to help residents learn how to grow food in backyard, community, and school gardens; landscape more sustainably to save water and other natural resources; and create healthier more active communities. Our Master Gardeners are UC trained volunteers who come from all walks of life. If you are passionate about gardening and sharing your knowledge with others consider becoming a Master Gardener yourself! All applicates are encouraged to attend a MG informational meeting. A link to complete the online application will be posted here on or before September 1, 2022. Applications must be received through the online system by or on Oct. 31, 2022.
