Sixty-four students.

One school year.

Countless possibilities.

This year, Soaring is supporting 64 students in Northern Haiti through our education sponsorship program, helping provide access to the resources and opportunities they need to learn and grow.

Behind every student is a family making sacrifices, educators investing in the next generation, and a community that believes education can open doors.

In the coming weeks, we'll be sharing more about our students, the schools they attend, and the impact of educational support in their communities.

For now, we're simply grateful for everyone who believes that every child deserves the opportunity to learn, dream, and build a brighter future.

Every safe delivery represents hope. ❤️

At the Sante Fanm Birth Center in Northern Haiti, local midwives care for mothers and babies throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period.

Families also receive a Baby Box filled with essential newborn items, helping parents welcome their little ones with practical support during those important first days of life.

Behind every healthy baby is a dedicated team providing compassionate care, guidance, and encouragement to families.

In a country facing significant challenges, these moments remind us why maternal healthcare matters.

Healthy mothers. Healthy babies. Stronger communities.

When people hear “Haiti,” stability is probably not the first word that comes to mind right now.

And in many parts of the country, understandably so.

But in Northern Haiti, where Soaring’s medical programs operate, our team continues showing up every day to provide care through our clinic and maternal health services at the Sante Fanm Birth Center.

In recent weeks alone, the team has navigated flooding, road blockages caused by protests, and unexpected facility repairs -all while continuing to serve patients and families.

This doesn’t mean the challenges have disappeared. It means healthcare workers, midwives, and staff continue doing the hard work of keeping essential services operating despite uncertainty and growing pressure.

That continuity matters. 🇭🇹

A child seeing their own language in a book matters. 🇭🇹📚

This week is Haitian Creole Children’s Book Week, a global initiative celebrating literacy, storytelling, and culturally rooted learning in Haitian Creole.

A few years ago, Soaring helped distribute more than 2,500 Haitian Creole children’s books through schools in Northern Haiti.

Books in a child’s native language do more than teach reading. They help children feel seen, connected, and proud of who they are.

During Haitian Heritage Month, we’re thankful for the educators, families, and partners who are investing in Haiti’s children through language and learning.

May is Haitian Heritage Month in the U.S. - a time to celebrate the richness, resilience, and creativity of Haitian communities.

At Soaring, we see that heritage alive every day in Northern Haiti: children learning at school, families gathering in markets, and communities supporting one another through healthcare, nutrition, and local programs.

As we say in Haiti: “Piti piti zwazo fè nich li.” (“Little by little, the bird builds its nest.”) Every act of care helps communities grow stronger.

Thanks to our U.S.-based donors, clinics stay open, teachers continue their work, and families are cared for - helping Haitian heritage thrive in real, tangible ways.

It’s easy to talk about Haiti 🇭🇹as if it’s one reality. It’s not.

In Port-au-Prince, daily life has been deeply disrupted. Schools have closed, hospitals are strained, and many families have been displaced.

In Northern Haiti, where Soaring works, life continues:
• Clinics are open
• Schools are operating
• Markets are active

But that doesn’t mean things are easy. Families fleeing violence are arriving in the North, and communities are carrying that weight.

This is the space we’re working in: not untouched by crisis, but holding the line.

We have some exciting news to share 💛

Soaring Unlimited Haiti has earned Platinum transparency status with Candid, the highest level of recognition they offer.

This recognition reflects a commitment to transparency about our work, how we use resources, and the impact of programs serving communities in northern Haiti.

It also reflects the values of this community. The trust, generosity, and long-term support of our donors and partners make this level of transparency possible.

We’re proud of this milestone, and even more focused on what comes next. We will continue strengthening how we share our work and ensuring that the impact on the ground is both meaningful and visible.

She thought she might die.

When Roseline became pregnant with her second child, she was alone. She couldn’t afford to see a doctor, and by the time she reached Soaring’s Women’s Health Center, her condition was serious.

“I was scared I was going to die… my baby would die with me.”

But our team didn’t turn her away.

Our midwives made sure she received the care and treatment she needed. Months later, she returned, not in fear, but to give birth to a healthy baby.

Stories like Roseline’s happen because someone is there.

Right now, our Haitian team continues to show up every day, even as the cost of living rises around them. Our clinic helps cover staff costs, but it’s no longer enough.

We’re raising $20,000 to support a cost-of-living adjustment for our team - so they can keep showing up for families like Roseline’s.

Will you stand with them?

For over 30 years, our Haitian team has been the heart of Soaring’s work.

They show up every day to serve their community with dedication and care. But as the cost of living rises in Haiti, the reality is getting harder.

Our clinic covers part of staff costs, but it’s no longer enough.

We’re launching our first appeal of the year to raise $20,000 to support a cost-of-living adjustment for our team.

This is about sustaining the people who make the work possible.

Will you stand with them?

Last week, I spent time in Lansing getting to meet some of the incredible people who have supported Soaring for so many years.

A big thank you to Grace United Methodist Church for organizing such a lovely reception. It was truly special to gather, share stories, and connect with a community that cares so deeply about this work.

I also attended service at First United Methodist Church of Eaton Rapids, and it was a beautiful experience to be part of that space as well.

One thing I heard again and again was this: supporters want to hear more and stay connected to what’s happening in Haiti.

I hear you. And I’m excited to share more regularly about the impact you are making possible.

Thank you for the warm welcome and for being such an important part of this work 💛
