As a Midwoofer, one of my favorite “first foods” for both my nursing mamas and transitioning puppies is homemade bone broth.
Why?
✨ Hydration during pregnancy, nursing, and weaning.
✨ Naturally occurring collagen and gelatin to help support the digestive tract.
✨ Amino acids like glycine and proline that support tissue repair.
✨ Trace minerals that are released from the bones during slow simmering.
✨ Warm, easy to digest, and incredibly gentle on tiny developing stomachs.
Did you know that around 70% of the immune system is associated with the gut? That’s one reason I put so much focus on early nutrition. A healthy gut barrier and balanced digestive system are part of building a strong foundation for life.
Bone broth is my midwooferys magic potion, I do believe that supporting gut health from day one with simple, whole foods gives puppies an incredible start.
No powders. No shortcuts. Just bones, time, and love simmering on my stove.
It’s one of those little behind-the-scenes things that most people never see,but it’s part of how I care for every mama and every puppy that comes through my Midwoofery.
P.S. I recommend all my families make a ice tray full and keep them for tippers and treats for those days tummies need more attention 🐾🤎
