🐾 Happy International Dog Day! 🐾

We know there are plenty of four-legged rodeo fans out there! 🤠🐶

Maybe your dog is a true rodeo dog who’s spent the day at the arena…

Maybe they’re a cowboy’s best sidekick…

Or maybe they’re just the best darn dog in your world. ❤️

Let’s see ‘em! 👇📸

🥤 Cool Drinks, Big Impact 💚

A huge THANK YOU to 4-H Cherokee County for keeping our rodeo crowd cool, refreshed, and smiling all weekend long in the concession stand! 🧊🥤💚

You showed up, worked hard, and kept things moving like pros - and we appreciate every minute you put in! 👏

To say thanks, Sheryl Leonard - the Cherokee PRCA Rodeo Board Chair, was proud to present a $1,240 check to Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Cherokee County for the 4-H program. 💰🙌

We love partnering with local youth who work hard and give back to their community. Your contribution to rodeo weekend made a difference!

Thank you, 4-H, for being part of the rodeo family! 🤠💚

👀 Sooo…You Like Country, Cowboys, and a Little Bit of Chaos?

Perfect timing.

After wrapping up an incredible 60th Anniversary Cherokee PRCA Rodeo in May (and taking a well-earned breather), we’re gearing up for next year’s rodeo - and our fundraising events!

If you’ve ever thought, “That looks like a fun group,” this is your sign.

We’re always looking for fun, community-minded people to help plan one of the region’s premier PRCA rodeos. And you don’t have to live in Cherokee - we have committee members from several counties, and even into Nebraska, who bring their ideas, talents, and enthusiasm to the table.

✨ Committee perks include:
🤠 A perfectly good excuse to wear your boots
🐎 The occasional smell of horses
🐮 Being close to bulls…without having to run from them
🎉 Helping create memories for thousands of rodeo fans
😂 Lots of laughs and great people

We meet just once a month August-June - the first Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. - and we’d love to have you join us.

Whether you’re a cowboy/cowgirl at heart, enjoy giving back, have great fundraising ideas, or simply want to be part of something special, there’s a place for you on our team.

Send us a message if you’re curious, or comment “Yee-haw!” below and we’ll reach out!

🗓️ First Tuesday of every month
📍 Meetings are in Cherokee

Come join the party as we start planning another unforgettable Cherokee PRCA Rodeo! 🤠

Three weeks later, we’re still thinking about what this community really accomplished during the 60th Anniversary Cherokee PRCA Rodeo.

Because beyond the arena lights, the concerts, and the crowd moments - this is the part that deserves the spotlight:

THIS is what community impact looks like:

🤝 161+ local businesses and vendors partnered with the rodeo
🎈 16 free kid-friendly activities shared with families
💗 $1,990 raised on Pink Out Night to support CRMC patients traveling for cancer treatments (gas cards that matter more than words can say)
🌽 $1,240.50 donated to 4-H from concession stand sales
🏘️ 7 local nonprofits and businesses hosted community events alongside rodeo week
🙌 56+ volunteers gave their time
⏱️ 2,436+ community service hours contributed during rodeo week alone

That’s not just participation - that’s investment.

That’s businesses showing up. Volunteers showing up. Families showing up. A whole community choosing to build something bigger than a weekend event.

The rodeo may last a few days, but the impact lasts a whole lot longer.

We’re incredibly grateful for every partner, every hour, every dollar, and every hand that made this possible.

👇 The graphic below captures it all - but these numbers only tell part of the story. The heart behind them is what makes Cherokee so special.

🤠❤️ Here’s a look at just a few of the folks who make the Cherokee PRCA Rodeo possible year after year!

As we celebrate the success of our 60th Anniversary Rodeo, we want to give a huge shoutout to the incredible volunteer board and committee members who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make it all happen.

These aren’t just three-days-a-year volunteers. This crew works year-round securing sponsors, preparing the grounds, coordinating with the PRCA, planning events, putting up signs, selling tickets, working with contractors, recruiting volunteers, making food to feed contestants, and tackling a thousand details that most people never see.

The long days, late nights, countless meetings, muddy boots, and endless to-do lists are all worth it when families make memories and fans pack the stands.

These photos may not be perfectly posed, but they perfectly capture who this group is - fun, dedicated, and always in motion!

Thank you to every board member, committee member, volunteer, sponsor, and family member who helped make our 60th Anniversary Cherokee PRCA Rodeo one for the record books! We couldn’t do it without you.

Here’s to 60 years of rodeo tradition and many more to come! 🐎🔥🇺🇸

🎓🌾 BIG congratulations to our 2026 Leaders in Agriculture Scholarship recipient: CADEN WITTROCK! 🌾🎓

During the 60th Anniversary Cherokee PRCA Rodeo, we had the honor of presenting Caden with our $10,000 Leaders in Agriculture Scholarship and recognizing a young man who embodies the future of agriculture in northwest Iowa. 🔥🤠

This year’s scholarship competition was one of the toughest we’ve seen yet, with an outstanding group of applicants making the selection process incredibly difficult. In the end, Caden stood out for his leadership, work ethic, academic success, community involvement, and unwavering commitment to agriculture.

A graduate of South O’Brien High School, Caden recently completed his freshman year at Iowa State University, where he is majoring in Agricultural Studies. His long-term goal is one that hits close to home for all of us - returning to Paullina after graduation to build a career in agriculture while continuing to work alongside his family on their farm. 🚜🌽

At a time when rural communities need strong leaders more than ever, Caden is helping carry forward the values, traditions, and work ethic that keep agriculture thriving. His dedication to both his education and the future of our industry makes him a deserving recipient of this honor.

🎉 Congratulations, Caden! We’re proud to invest in the next generation of agricultural leaders and can’t wait to see the impact you’ll make in the years ahead.

💗 Pink Out Giving Back! 💗

The Cherokee PRCA Rodeo Board is proud to present a donation of $1,990 to the Cherokee Regional Medical Center Foundation in support of local patients battling cancer.

Funds were raised through our Pink Out Frisbee Throw, Pink Out ticket sales, and the incredible generosity of our rodeo fans and community. The donation will help provide gas cards for patients traveling to and from cancer treatments, easing some of the financial burden that can come with cancer care.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who purchased tickets, participated in the Frisbee Throw, and supported our Pink Out efforts. Because of you, a fun rodeo tradition is making a meaningful impact right here in our community.

Together, we’re showing that the Cherokee PRCA Rodeo is about more than rodeo - it’s about neighbors helping neighbors. 💕

🤠🎉 We have a winner! 🎉🤠

Congratulations to BRADEN MEINTS, the winner of our Side-by-Side Raffle!

Braden's name was drawn on Saturday night immediately following the Cherokee PRCA Rodeo, and our board has officially reached out to share the exciting news.

A huge thank you to everyone who purchased raffle tickets and supported this fundraiser. Your ticket purchases support our annual Leaders in Agriculture Scholarship, helping invest in the next generation of agricultural leaders.

Your support of the Cherokee Rodeo extends far beyond rodeo weekend - it helps create opportunities for local students and strengthens the future of our community.

Please join us in congratulating Braden on his big win! 🥳👏

👑❤️ A Heartfelt Thank You to Our 2025 Miss Rodeo Cherokee, Tayah Carter! ❤️👑

As Tayah’s year representing the Cherokee PRCA Rodeo came to a close this past weekend, we want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude for everything she has done to represent our organization.

While many people see the crown, sash, and grand entries, the true role of Miss Rodeo Cherokee is to serve as an ambassador for our rodeo. Throughout her reign, Tayah was the face of our rodeo everywhere she traveled, building connections, promoting our event, and representing our community with grace, professionalism, and heart.

She traveled countless miles, attended rodeos across the country, and proudly shared the spirit of Cherokee PRCA Rodeo wherever she went. Her dedication, enthusiasm, and commitment to promoting our rodeo never went unnoticed. She represented us with poise, authenticity, and a genuine love for the rodeo community.

Beyond the title, Tayah is simply a remarkable young woman. Her kindness, beautiful spirit, warm heart, and positive attitude make her a joy to be around. She has been an incredible ambassador for our rodeo and a shining example of what Miss Rodeo Cherokee represents.

Thank you, Tayah, for your time, your energy, your dedication, and the countless ways you shared Cherokee PRCA Rodeo with the country. We are grateful for the year we shared. Once a part of the Cherokee PRCA Rodeo family, always a part of the Cherokee PRCA Rodeo family.

❤️ Thank you for representing us so well. We can’t wait to see what comes next.

🤠🎶 Saturday night was absolutely one for the history books!

The mud tried to steal the spotlight, but the crowd had other plans. People didn’t just show up - they powered through on the path carved with help from our trusty tractor volunteers, pushing, smoothing, and doing everything they could to get folks safely into the arena. 🚜

🏟️ 🎤 And once the lights hit and Ned LeDoux took the stage…game over. The energy was awesome - crowd singing, boots stomping, and zero hesitation from anyone who decided a little mud wasn’t going to stand between them and an unforgettable night.

🐎 That’s rodeo weekend. That’s choosing the experience no matter what the weather throws at you.

❤️ Massive gratitude to everyone who came out, embraced the chaos, and helped turn a muddy mess into one of the most legendary nights we’ve ever had at the rodeo. 🔥
