We are proud to announce our support of the P.O. Ken Tietjen Memorial Foundation - Home of Mini Horse Heroes. Yesterday, we presented a donation in the amount of $2,000 to the foundation to assist them in their endeavors. For those that don't know, Kenny was a Port Authority Police Officer and Middletown resident. He lost his life on 9/11 saving others when the towers fell.

Kenny's legacy lives on through the efforts of his sister Laurie, who runs the foundation. In addition to her efforts through the foundation, Laurie is a proud supporter of law enforcement throughout the county and state. Laurie recently started a local group to help support law enforcement.

This year, through Laurie's tremendous effort, the Foundation and Back the Blue group are providing catered meals for 20 departments throughout the county on Christmas Eve. In her words, "A small gesture for all police officers do for our community". Officers throughout the county who will be on duty and away from their families will know they have the support of many residents.

PBA 239 is proud to know Laurie and call her a friend. Thank you, Merry Christmas and carry on with your efforts. Please help us by supporting Laurie and her efforts.
