Today, we pause to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Memorial Day is a solemn reminder of the courage, sacrifice, and selflessness of those who never made it home, as well as the families who carry that loss every day.

As a foundation rooted in service, leadership, and community, we are deeply grateful for the freedoms made possible by their sacrifice. We remember and honor them today and every day.

This week the FIAAA recognized four outstanding athletic directors from across Florida with the Chris Hixon Exemplary Sportsmanship Award.

This award honors leaders who reflect the values Coach Hixon lived every day: sportsmanship, integrity, service, and a deep commitment to student-athletes.

Earlier this month, we had the honor of recognizing this year’s Chris Hixon Athletic Scholarship recipients at their schools’ awards ceremonies across Broward County.

Out of 76 applications representing 23 different schools, these six outstanding student-athletes were selected to receive a $4,000 scholarship:

RJ Meis – Marjory Stoneman Douglas
Anika Ravi – Cypress Bay
Ayla Kayan – South Broward
Grace Lerner – Cooper City
Jadon Nagelbush – Everglades
Kylie Keenan – Fort Lauderdale

Each of these students represents the leadership, perseverance, and heart that Coach Hixon stood for, and we know they’ll continue to carry his legacy forward.

We’re proud to officially celebrate them here— keep an eye out as we highlight each of these incredible students in the days ahead.
