I just submitted the next 16 pounds of plastic that put us over 500 # for this year. We have earned Bench #3. Yeh! Go Team!

Usually this collection takes us 6 month to accumulate.but because of Covid -19 slowing things up it took us 10 months. Never mind. We have earned it.

Thanks to the innumerable people and groups which have contributed. We are getting more and more collectors and this is growing to be a valuable and recognizable community project. Congratulations to us!!

Congratulations to the Miami Buena Vista-Biltmore Lions Club for successfully completing the Hollywood Lions Club/Trex Recycle Challenge.

One more environmental project completed. Miami Buena Vista-Biltmore Lions Club just finished with the collection and delivery of 500 lbs (actually 520 lbs) of plastic bags. MBVBLC will now obtain a park bench from the TREX Company to be installed at a to be determined Miami-Dade Public Park location.

HLC is still collecting plastic for our next bench. Covid-19 has slowed the process and collection, but we are moving forward towards our third bench.

Kids of Love have just given us 33 pounds of our beloved plastic film. This begins an important symbiotic relationship between two charities to do good for the wider community. KoL supports childhood cancer and operates a significant and busy food distribution program. KoL distributes shipping pallets full of donated food to the needy families in the area. Each pallet comes wrapped in shrink plastic and KoL collects that for our Recycle Challenge. Big Roar for Kids of Love.

I just deposited another 18 pounds towards our third bench. Much of this comes from a dumpster retrieval by a certain individual. But we have decided no more dumpster diving for plastic. So your collection is important and matters and has an impact. Go, Team!
