Throwing it back to a special day at the ballpark! Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Foundation welcomed patients and their families to a Miami Marlins game for an afternoon filled with fun, memories and plenty of smiles. ⚾❤️

Some moments are years in the making. 🍕

After five years of care at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital, Ravi's mom wrote a letter reflecting on the journey that transformed her son's life. Today, we're honored to share a few of her words about Dr. Nicole Akar-Ghibril and the compassionate team who helped make milestones that once felt impossible become reality.

"Tears are in my eyes as I write this letter of gratitude. Dr. Akar has given our son so much more than medical treatment. She has given him confidence, independence, inclusion, and the opportunity to experience childhood in ways that once seemed impossible. She has lifted an enormous burden from our entire family and given us freedoms we never thought we would have." ❤️

A special team stopped by Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital! ⚾️

The One Hometeam Foundation visited our patients alongside current Miami Marlins player Griffin Conine, former Marlins player Lewis Brinson, former Cleveland Guardians pitcher Triston McKenzie, and former NFL player and HTFT, Mental Health & Performance founder Trevor Barlow.

The athletes spent time with patients, signed autographs and shared plenty of smiles along the way. 😁❤️

Through initiatives like its 305ers vs. Broward charity softball game, One Hometeam Foundation brings athletes and communities together while encouraging connection and open conversations around mental health.

Thank you for brightening our patients’ day and reminding them that having a strong team behind you can make all the difference. 🫶

School is almost back in session, and our community showed up! ❤️

Thank you to all the families who joined us at our Back to School Health Fair. Together, we helped children get ready for the school year with school physicals, vision and hearing screenings, and a few extra smiles along the way.

We were also proud to send students home with backpacks filled with school supplies while supplies lasted because starting the school year healthy and prepared makes all the difference.

A heartfelt thank you to our physicians, nurses, staff and volunteers who dedicated their time to making this event possible. Your commitment to caring for our community continues to make an impact long before the first school bell rings. 🏫📚🔔

Meet Dr. Alexandre Boulos, the newest member of our pediatric orthopedic team. Born and raised in Haiti, Dr. Boulos brings a deep commitment to service, family-centered care, and building meaningful connections with patients. He speaks Creole and is passionate about helping families feel heard, supported, and confident throughout their child's care journey. ❤️

Outside of work, he enjoys staying active by running, working out, spending time at the beach, and exploring South Florida's waterways with family and friends. He's also an avid chess player, enjoys building intricate LEGO sets, and is a devoted Boston Celtics and Washington Commanders fan who never passes up a Harry Potter movie.

We're excited to welcome Dr. Boulos and look forward to the expertise, compassion, and energy he brings to the children and families we serve. 🫶

Memorial Healthcare System is seeing a 178% increase in trauma-related injuries, and most riders aren’t wearing helmets.

As more people use these for everyday transportation, it’s important to know the rules of the road.
