Got Corn Allergies? The USDA has just deregulated yet another toxic GMO corn - Bayer-Monsanto's MON 95275 - that produces two insecticidal proteins and a double-stranded RNA transcript from an inverted repeat sequence designed to match the western corn rootworm. The corn is registered with the EPA as a pesticide because that's exactly what it is: a pesticide. The insecticides are in the corn and can't be washed off. To make matters worse, it's genetically engineered to tolerate spraying with multiple toxic herbicides, potentially up to five. These endocrine-disrupting, carcinogenic herbicides are absorbed into the corn and also can't be washed off.

This corn will be used for ethanol, conventional animal feed, and put into conventional processed foods that use corn, like Coca-Cola and Kellogg's Corn Flakes.

Products made with toxic GMO corn belong in the pesticide aisle, not on grocery stores' food shelves. If you have allergies to conventional corn products, now you know why.

A Mother Jones investigation found that the U.S. Forest Service (USFS), an agency within the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), has been spraying massive amounts of toxic glyphosate herbicide on forests across the United States.

Mother Jones wrote, "While glyphosate is more well-known for its use in agriculture, its fastest-growing use in California—where our investigation analyzed more than 5 million state pesticide records—is on forestlands. Private timber companies and the USFS have been dousing hundreds of thousands of acres of the state’s forests in the herbicide, especially areas affected by wildfires.”

Why is the USFS dousing forestland with a carcinogenic herbicide?

The USFS claims that spraying glyphosate is the easiest and least expensive way to help conifers regrow after wildfires. Pine needle conifers aren’t affected by glyphosate in the same way as other plants. Blanketing forestland with glyphosate kills everything but the conifer trees. This helps the agency meet its desired forest density for future timber sales, according to hundreds of pages of USFS documents reviewed in Mother Jones’ investigation.

In 2025, President Trump issued an executive order for the USFS to increase timber sales by 25%. In 2026, Trump issued an executive order calling for an increase in the domestic production of glyphosate to help Bayer-Monsanto. While these presidential actions may benefit Trump’s allies— the private timber industry and Bayer-Monsanto—they only bring increased risk of disease to Americans and destroy the vital biodiversity of nature.

Locals living near the sprayed areas are livid and have been speaking out. EVERYONE should be angry. The spraying of glyphosate on forestland is not acceptable and the practice must cease.

The USDA is considering fully deregulating two genetically engineered (GE) plum trees—and their progeny—developed by USDA’s own scientists. But there are some very big unanswered questions.

These trees were engineered with a gene from a poplar tree to dramatically accelerate flowering. The result? Trees with disrupted dormancy, near-continuous flowering, abnormal growth, weak and brittle branches, and unusual flower clusters. Even more troubling: in one small field trial, all three Line 157 trees and five of eight Line 34 trees died within just one to two years.

Once living, reproducing GE trees are released into the environment, there is no recall button. Deregulation is easy. Reversing gene flow isn't.

GREAT NEWS: The California Prohibiting Bisphenols in Receipts Act of 2026 (AB 1604) has been signed into law, helping to protect millions of California workers and consumers from unnecessary exposure to bisphenols, a class of hormone-disrupting chemicals that have been linked to serious health effects, including breast cancer and reproductive health impacts. Testing conducted by the Ecology Center in 2023 found that 80% of receipts contained toxic bisphenols, while 20% were already made without these chemicals, demonstrating that safer alternatives are available. Cashiers and other workers who handle receipts throughout the workday can experience significantly higher levels of BPA and BPS exposure than the general population. “Californians shouldn’t have to worry that something as routine as accepting a receipt could expose them to chemicals linked to cancer and other serious health conditions,” said Assemblymember Catherine Stefani (D – San Francisco).

Washington State's first-in-the-nation law banning bisphenols in receipts went into effect in January of this year. Since the FDA doesn't give a flying you-know-what and fails to even implement a simple regulation like this to protect all Americans, states must step up.

A new class action lawsuit is being filed in Quebec, Canada, on allegations that the company sent millions of pounds of berries to Canada with pesticide residues above Canada's legal safety limits between 2022 and 2024. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) confirmed to CBC News it conducted several inspections on Driscoll’s berries sold in grocery stores across the country between 2022-24 and found levels of bifenthrin, captan, and iprodione above legal safe limits. “Through these proceedings, the plaintiff seeks to represent all class members in order to obtain a reduction in their obligations and punitive damages aimed at denouncing and penalizing the company’s highly reprehensible practices."

Meanwhile, Driscoll’s continues to apply carcinogenic pesticides near elementary and middle schools in Watsonville, California where the company is headquartered, putting schoolchildren in harm’s way. REPREHENSIBLE, INDEED.

SYNGENTA's hormone-disrupting herbicide atrazine is contaminating nearly 25%, or about 860,000 miles, of all continental U.S. rivers at levels that can harm wildlife and may threaten human health, a new review of federal records has found. The waterways cover over 20% of surface drinking water intakes across the country, and over 675,000 private and commercial wells. Atrazine can have severe impacts on human and animal hormones, especially for developing children. It was found to “chemically castrate” frogs, and cause some to change sexes. The herbicide is so dangerous that it has been effectively banned in 60 countries, including the European Union, since 2003.

Despite being banned in the EU, China-owned, Switzerland-based Syngenta produces atrazine in the EU and exports it to the United States so that Americans can be poisoned for profit. This must stop.

Syngenta has the largest portfolio of agricultural poisons of any of the Big Four agrichemical giants, including Bayer-Monsanto, BASF, and Corteva. Driscoll’s is the world’s largest producer and marketer of blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, and strawberries, and uses Syngenta's pesticides. It may be a match made in profit-heaven for those two corporate titans, but it's hell for the farmworkers and communities where Driscoll's operates.

Driscoll’s claims it is ‘in harmony with the communities’ where its farms operate. But in Watsonville, California, childhood cancer rates are 38% higher than the California average. Does that sound like "harmony" to you? Not by any stretch of the imagination.

Syngenta is a corporation that civil society shouldn't even allow to exist. And even though Driscoll's states that its use of toxic pesticides right next to schools is legal, it is absolutely immoral.

GMO/Toxin Free USA released a new white paper, Grounds for Concern: Hidden Chemicals in Decaf Coffee, detailing independent laboratory testing that detected methylene chloride, benzene and toluene in multiple lots of Starbucks Medium Roast Decaf House Blend.

The findings come as Starbucks Corporation faces an active consumer class action lawsuit in a Washington state federal court alleging, among other claims, that the company failed to disclose volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and industrial solvents detected in certain decaffeinated coffee products including benzene, methylene chloride, and toluene.

GMO/Toxin Free USA’s independent testing found substantially higher concentrations in two Starbucks lots tested in April 2026 than in a January 2025 lot.
