Mended Hearts is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing hope, encouragement, and support to heart patients and their families. Through hospital visits, caring conversations, and compassionate outreach, volunteers help uplift the spirits of those facing cardiac challenges. In addition to patient visits, Mended Hearts hosts monthly meetings and support groups where heart patients, caregivers, and survivors can share experiences, receive education, and find comfort in a community that understands their journey.

Our Mended Hearts meeting on May 24th was truly a meaningful and successful gathering filled with warmth, encouragement, and heartfelt connection. It was inspiring to see so many people come together to share experiences, offer support, and remind one another that no one walks this journey alone. Through compassion, understanding, and friendship, we continue to strengthen each other’s path through the world, bringing hope and comfort to every heart we touch.

In December 2024, our volunteer dinner brought together an incredible group of caring people who dedicated their time, compassion, and energy to helping others throughout the community. The evening was filled with laughter, appreciation, heartfelt conversations, and special memories as volunteers gathered to celebrate the impact they made together. As we look back at these photos, we are also reminded of Marvin, who has since passed away and is still missed dearly by everyone whose lives he touched. His kindness, warmth, and presence will always remain a cherished part of these beautiful memories.

Marvin Keyser passed away Sunday, March 2, 2025.

Marvin joined Mended Hearts in 1997 and for nearly 28 years he served as an accredited visitor, served as the MH Vice President, served on the MHI Executive Committee, served as the ARD and RD for the Southern MH region, was past president of Chapter 161, and was the Coordinator of Mended Little Hearts of South Florida. Marvin was the 2012 Volunteer of the Year. His warmth, charm and compassion left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. He was a dear friend to the staff at MHI and will be greatly missed.
