We’re thrilled to welcome Power Mukisa as Develop for Good’s new full-time Lead Software Engineer! 🎉

Power brings a global background spanning the United States, East Africa, Southeast Asia and South America, with experience building and scaling production systems across fintech, healthcare, and social impact organizations. Power earned his Master’s degree in Development Practice from the University of California, Berkeley, where he studied how technology, policy, economics, and institutional systems shape outcomes in underserved communities. He is committed to building scalable, sustainable technology that expands access and enables long-term impact. Outside of work, he’s an avid piano player and has spent the last decade attempting to master the electric guitar and saxophone.

At Develop for Good, Power will be developing the technical infrastructure we need to scale our programs sustainably, all while supporting our college students as they apply the latest AI tools and approaches to their real-world nonprofit projects 🚀

Big news 🎉 Join us in welcoming Christina Ward as our new Board Chair!

Christina brings 20 years of leadership across finance, workforce development, public affairs, and tech. She currently leads Global Transparency Reporting at YouTube, overseeing ~50 public reports. Previously, she drove public-private innovation at Luminary Labs, where she secured over $30M in contracts, including a multi-initiative partnership with the U.S. Department of Education to expand tech career pathways for underserved communities.

A Stanford alum and Churchill Scholar, Christina holds degrees from Oxford and Wharton—and we couldn’t be more excited to have her leadership guiding Develop for Good into its next chapter.

Earlier this season, Develop for Good served as a presenting Nonprofit Partner at ZCON, powered by United Talent Agency—the first conference by Gen Z with all Gen Z speakers 🧡

The event sparked powerful conversations on diversity, accessibility, and what it truly means to have a seat at the table, featuring voices like Auli’i Cravalho, Chandler Kinney, Anthony Po, and Paralympic champion Ezra Frech, alongside brand partners Coach, E.L.F. BEAUTY., and Spotify.

Develop for Good leaders Kiki Liu and Mary Zhu hosted a volunteer breakout session where attendees took on a fast-paced challenge to nominate nonprofits for our Gen Z volunteer tech force to support with custom software projects. Congratulations to Lana Ivory 🦋 and Shannon Rusbuldt Amar for emerging as the winners!

We’re deeply grateful to Faith Andrews-O’Neal, Maia Ervin, Reana Johnson, Ziad Ahmed, and Shaina Zafar from United Talent Agency for inviting us to be part of this first-of-its-kind gathering, and for creating space where Gen Z leadership and impact can thrive ✨
