We are heartbroken 💔 by the recent passing of our beloved founder, Dr. Sheela Shah.
Dr. Shah’s departure leaves an immense void not only in our community but also in the world. Her larger-than-life presence, boundless enthusiasm and unwavering passion for this sisterhood were unparalleled.
She was a trailblazer, excelling not just in her role as a physician and leader, but in every aspect of her life. Confronting every challenge, from professional hurdles to her personal battle with cancer, she faced them all with grit, determination and an infectious smile.
Her professional career was adorned with accolades, including her esteemed position as Chief of Staff at St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach.
She was deeply involved with the Indian community, particularly the Palm Beach Indian Physician Association and AAPI. Dr. Shah’s determination to ensure fair representation for female, Indian physicians in leadership roles drove her to help form this organization. As its first President, she embraced her role with zest and orchestrated numerous, successful events.
Soon after the formation of FIPOF, the pandemic struck and Dr. Shah rose to the occasion. She organized donations and aid to India, spearheaded local efforts to provide our physicians with essential resources like PPE and coordinated efforts for vital information sharing.
Sheela, we will profoundly miss you in our lives.
