Soleful Kicks is a youth-centered initiative that empowers kids to reach their goals. Their reward? A brand-new pair of sneakers they choose themselves.

Through partnerships with schools and mentors, we help students set and achieve personal milestones.

Activity #7: Attend a Community Event 🎉

Summer Challenge wasn’t just about getting active. It was also about getting out, trying something new and connecting with the communities around us! This summer, youth and families earned credits by attending all kinds of events, from festivals and celebrations to local community drives. We even had one family take the Summer Challenge international with a visit to see The Lion King while traveling in Spain! 🇪🇸🦁

Next up: the final results. We can’t wait to share what our youth accomplished this summer. 👀

And that’s a wrap! 👟🎉

Last week, we officially closed out our first-ever Summer Challenge! Activity credits have been submitted, shoes are being ordered and delivered, and we could not be more proud of the youth who showed up and showed out this summer.

So, what were the final results? Well...you’ll have to keep following along to find out. 👀 Before we share the final numbers, we have one more week of activity photos to celebrate!

Activity #6: Play an Outdoor Sport ⚽️ From soccer matches and zip-lining to swimming in the lake, our youth and families were getting ACTIVE this summer.

Activity #5: Complete a Fitness Activity 💪

Our Summer Challenge participants found all kinds of ways to get moving this summer! From ballet and bowling to roller skating, rock climbing, lifting weights, dodgeball and more, youth got to choose activities that interested them and find their own ways to stay active.

Chatham County youth have been hitting the trails this summer! 🌳🥾

As part of the Summer Challenge, youth and families have been getting outside and exploring local spots like Georgiana Falls and Eno River Farm.

And now we're officially in the final week of the Summer Challenge, with more than 50 young people already completing the challenge! We're excited to see how many more finish strong this week! 👟🎉

Everyone wants to know that their effort matters. For a young person, hearing "I see how hard you've been working" can be just as meaningful as crossing the finish line.

At Soleful Kicks, we celebrate more than achievements. We recognize the consistency, determination, and growth it takes to reach them. Because when effort is seen, confidence grows. And that confidence often becomes the motivation to keep going.

Activity #3: Go on a Bike Ride 🚲

Youth and families have been hitting the roads and trails as part of the Summer Challenge. We even had a couple of participants learn how to ride without training wheels this summer. Now that is an accomplishment worth celebrating!

With just two weeks left, we’re excited to see more participants finish strong and reach their goals. 👟

👟 Summer Challenge shoe deliveries have officially begun!

As we get ready to kick off August, we're excited to share that 30 youth have already completed the Summer Challenge!

These young people stayed committed all summer long by setting goals, staying active, giving back to their community, and trying new experiences. Their hard work has earned them a brand new pair of shoes they picked out themselves.

Join us in celebrating their dedication and everything they've accomplished. We can't wait to recognize even more finishers in the weeks ahead! 🎉

Activity #2: Volunteer Your Time ❤️

As we wrap up July, 21 youth have already completed the Summer Challenge!

One way participants earn credits is by giving back. From volunteering at the PTA Thrift Store to supporting CORA Food Pantry and local food drives, our youth are making a difference in their community while working toward their goals.

389 credits earned...and counting. 👟

We're about halfway through our Summer Challenge, and our youth have already completed 389 activities throughout our community. One way they can earn credits? Attend a library event.

From planting vegetables to creating clay art at Chatham library, our participants are discovering new interests and staying engaged all summer long. Every activity is another step towards achieving their goal.
