Holly Springs Fire Department 2026 Special Recognition: Assistant Chief Jamie Holland

Thirty years is a long time by any measure. It's three decades of shifts, calls, changes in equipment, changes in personnel, and changes in this town itself. It was an honor to recognize someone who has given all thirty of those years to the Town of Holly Springs.

Assistant Chief Jamie Holland has served this department and this community long before many of us put on this uniform. Over those thirty years, he has seen Holly Springs grow and change, and he has grown right along with it, adapting, leading, and dedicating himself to the job again and again.

That kind of tenure doesn't happen by accident. It takes commitment, year after year, to keep showing up and keep giving your best to the people you serve. Chief Holland's thirty years represent an extraordinary investment in this department and in this town, and that legacy is something every one of us benefits from, whether we realize it or not.

This is to recognize that milestone and say thank you. Thank you for thirty years of service, thirty years of leadership, and thirty years of dedication to Holly Springs.

Holly Springs Fire Department 2026 Rookie of the Year: Brittany Dolloff

Every rookie class brings someone who stands out, not just for how fast they learn, but for how they carry themselves while they're learning. This year, that person is Brittany Dolloff.

From day one, Brittany has worked hard at learning the art of becoming a top-notch firefighter. This job doesn't come easy to anyone, and she has put in the effort, shift after shift, to earn every bit of the skill she's building.

But what really stands out about Brittany is her disposition. I don't think I've seen her without a smile. That kind of attitude is contagious, and it sets the tone for everyone around her. She recently told Chief Smith, "Chief, I am just happy to be here." That's a simple sentence, but it says a lot. It's gratitude, it's humility, and it's the kind of perspective that reminds all of us why we got into this profession in the first place.

Her work ethic and her demeanor make her an example for every member of this department, not just the rookies. She's proof that you can work hard and still bring joy to the job every single day.

We are proud to award this year's Rookie of the Year to Firefighter Brittany Dolloff. Congratulations, Brittany, and welcome to the family.

July Educator of the Month sponsored by Resource Room Learning Center -
As a veteran second-grade teacher at Holly Springs Elementary School, Ms. Strauber consistently exemplifies the qualities of an outstanding educator through her commitment to student success, exceptional instructional practices, and the positive learning environment she creates each day.

One of Ms. Strauber's greatest strengths is her ability to establish a classroom culture where every student knows they are valued, capable, and expected to succeed. From the moment students enter her classroom, purposeful routines and high expectations create an atmosphere that is calm, engaging, and focused on learning. Her students demonstrate remarkable independence, responsibility, and confidence because of the consistent structures she has thoughtfully developed over time.

She recognizes when individual learners need additional support and responds with patience, compassion, and encouragement. Her relationships with students foster confidence and create a classroom where children feel safe to take risks, ask questions, and grow both academically and personally.

Beyond her classroom, Ms. Strauber is a respected and dependable member of the HSES community. As a veteran educator, she serves as a steady presence for colleagues, willingly sharing her expertise, modeling best practices, and contributing to a collaborative culture that benefits both students and staff. Her professionalism, dedication, and positive attitude make her an invaluable member of HSES.

Ms. Strauber embodies the very best of our profession. Her passion for teaching, commitment to excellence, and lasting impact on students make her exceptionally deserving of this recognition.

Calling local businesses and community partners: Sponsorship opportunities are now available for Grapes, Grains & Giving!

While individual event tickets are available separately for guests who would like to attend, this opportunity is specifically for businesses and organizations interested in supporting the event as a sponsor.

Grapes, Grains & Giving is an elegant evening benefiting the Holly Springs Food Cupboard, which continues to provide critical support to financially vulnerable families in our community. This year, our goal is to raise at least $25,000 to directly support their mission.

Sponsors will help make an evening of wine and beer tastings, delicious food, live and silent auctions, a wine toss, bourbon pull, and more possible, while also demonstrating their commitment to the Holly Springs community.
