The Warrior Survivor Project (PTSD)

The Warrior Survivor Project (PTSD) The Warrior Survivor Project PTSD, is a non-profit organization that consults with and provides support services for other veteran organizations.

We are committed to helping veterans from any conflict struggling with PTSD. The Warrior Survivor Project was created to assist veterans of any conflict who have Post Traumatic Stress Dissorder (PTSD), their families, friends and anyone else who is looking for information to help them in dealing with someone who has PTSD. Conflict Management and Dispute Resolution practices will be employed also.

If you are active duty, reserve, retired, a veteran, or veteran survivor; Thank You for your Service! Members can share short version stories of what they are going through which is a great way to create bonding between members especially those that can not get together locally to meet. This is NOT a forum for politics and debate. Direct verbal attacks on a member are NOT allowed. Politics could be a trigger for some veterans so posts about this topic are discouraged. PTSD legislation will be allowed but please keep it brief. Thanks for joining and we hope you will participate and learn as well as contribute to the experience. As the Director of the Warrior Survivor Project I invite you to meet with us locally in the Atlanta Georgia Area. We provide an aerobic martial arts fitness as a way to help control aggression issues related to PTSD for those who are interested in participating. My background as a college professor teaching communication and conflict management as well as 17 plus years as an active duty military member and a Gulf War I veteran is an added advantage for providing assistance to so many that are affected by PTSD. I am also a 5th degree Black Belt Master instructor in Tae Kwon Do with over 30 years experience. We also participate in a round table group discussion for developing bonding, trust building and additional support between members.

Here are some ground rules for this Memorial Day Weekend:

1. Don't wish me a Happy Memorial Day -- there isn't anything happy about brave men and women dying.

2. It's not a holiday or a sale, it is a Day of Remembrance.

3. You want to know the true meaning? Just visit your local Cemetery. Go to a local Memorial Day Ceremony, not Disneyland or a mall. Teach your kids why we honor this day and what sacrifice really means.

4. Say a prayer, and reflect on the dedication of the men and women this day honors.

P.S. Veterans day is in November and is set aside to honor all of those who have served. Memorial Day is for those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

It is time to remember that the true price of freedom is paid for by the lives of those who defend it. Honor our brothers and sisters that have given the last full measure to secure our freedoms. 🇺🇲️🇺🇸

These are 3 of my brothers I like to remember every year through the Wreaths Across America Program. A1C Tom Moore, A1C Todd (Smitty) Smith and Bryan Smyth, US Navy, my classmate from Kennesaw State University, class of 2004. If you have a Military or First Responder loved one that has passed here is the link order a wreath where you can remember them too.
