Holly Springs Food Cupboard - A Rotary Partner

This week the Holly Springs Rotary Club presented a check to the Holly Springs Food Cupboard. For many years the Rotary Club has partnered with the Food Cupboard to help support those less fortunate. In the past year, Roarians have helped deliver meals to those who can not come to the Food Cupboard. Every Thanksgivings a group of Holly Springs Rotarians deliver special holiday meals. We are thankful that we can provide this support.

This year we have started a new initiative with them. Traditionally the Food Cupboard supplied basic hygiene products. They can no longer do this due to higher priorities. Rotary is stepping in to fill this need and the check this week will allow more hygiene products to be made available to those they serve. Among the items are dental kits, shampoo, and deodorant.

We are thankful for our partnership with the Food Cupboard. It helps the Rotary Club meet one of its basic values - taking care of others.

The TAC TITANS recently made a SPLASH at the Holly Springs Food Cupboard, diving into our garden to help with the harvest AND even brought donations to support our mission!

Whether they're powering through laps in the pool or lending a hand in the garden, these young athletes know what it means to be part of a team. Their hard work and generosity help us provide fresh food and hope to neighbors facing food insecurity. 💚

🌱 Welcome to Holly Springs, Genentech!

Recently their team spent the morning in our Cupboard gardens harvesting vegetables, starting seeds, and planting onions and lettuce that will help feed local families. We're SO GRATEFUL for their commitment to serving our community and are VERY excited to partner together to make a difference. 💚

Okay, we’re officially TOO excited not to share a tiny sneak peek… 👏

The Holly Springs Food Cupboard has purchased land and is actively working on plans for a future expanded space! As the need in our community continues to grow, we know we need to grow too - and we’re SO EXCITED about what’s ahead!

Still lots of work to do, but we can’t wait to bring everyone along for the journey later this year. ❤️

We were THRILLED that the Aura Ops Readiness Team at Fujifilm Biotechnologies brought us 543 pounds of non-perishable donations this month... It’s so good to see the sorting shelves look crowded again! 💪🥫

A big 🤠YEE-HAW🤠 to Texas Roadhouse for showing some love to our incredible volunteers during last Thursday’s distribution!! They treated our volunteers to a delicious lunch complete with those legendary rolls and honey butter, baked potatoes, chili, and even coupons to share! 🍞🥔✨

Our volunteers work tirelessly to serve local families EACH week, and gestures like this mean SO MUCH. Thank you for helping make our volunteers feel appreciated and celebrated!

There’s school spirit… and then there’s Holly Ridge Elementary School. 🐾❤️🖤

Year after year, the teachers, staff, and students at Holly Ridge go ABOVE and BEYOND to support their neighbors through creative, high-energy food drives - and this spring may have been their most unforgettable yet!

To encourage donations, teachers created an entire reward experience for students, complete with dance videos, a dance party, and even transforming an activity bus into a mobile donation center! They mapped out a neighborhood “parade route” to collect contributions, and in a true show of dedication, camped overnight on the bus during a chilly spring cold snap.

Their incredible effort comes at a critical time, as summer months often bring a drop in donations while the need for nutritious food continues to grow for local families.

To every student, teacher, and staff member at Holly Ridge: thank you for showing what community, creativity, and compassion look like in action. We are SO GRATEFUL for your continued support, the joy you bring to this mission, and for the 1,698 pounds you dropped off for our neighbors. 🌟

Many thanks to the National Charity League, Inc., Carolina Lily Chapter!!

Their recent food drive brought in an incredible 170 pounds of donations for our neighbors facing food insecurity - and that’s not all! Throughout the year, these dedicated volunteers also spend time helping in our garden, making sure fresh produce is available for the families we serve. 🌱💚
