Everyone is invited to join the Town of Holly Springs as a new historical marker is unveiled at First Baptist Church of Holly Springs.

📅 Thursday, May 8, noon
📍 208 Grigsby Ave.

The church dates to 1865 when a group of about 50 freedmen pooled their resources and purchased a half acre plot of land. Services were held in a log cabin until the church building was constructed. The original church structure burned, and all documents were lost. The present structure was built in 1880. Brick facing and memorial windows were added in the early 1950s.

We are proud to announce the Wilkins Impact Award, created to recognize individuals making significant contributions to religious reconciliation and peace initiatives.

Our first recipient is Chanel Wilkins, who has been a true inspiration and catalyst for positive change in this space. Her dedication to fostering unity and understanding is a testament to the power of love in action.

Stay tuned as we continue to honor those who embody peace, compassion, and the spirit of reconciliation.

The National Day of Prayer Awards Dinner and Celebration was more than an event; it was an experience.

Words like “magical,” “uplifting,” and “needed at a time like this” echoed throughout the room. Together, we didn’t just speak of unity; we witnessed it, lived it, and gave it a face through every smile, prayer, hug, and handshake.

Special thanks to Mayor Sean Mayefskie, Town Manager Randy Harrington, Chief Paul Liquorie, and Wake County Commissioner Safiyah Jackson for showing us the power of presence and leadership.

Wasn’t Studio 557 absolutely breathtaking? The perfect backdrop for an evening rooted in faith and love.

To Mark Savoldi, Dr. Mohamed AbuTaleb, Jennifer Kublin, and Rev. Wayne Wilhelm, you were deeply missed.

And to Dele Lawoyin, thank you for stepping in at the last minute to lead prayer. Your heart helped keep the evening flowing in spirit and grace.

We were proud to introduce the very first Wilkins Impact Award, and honoring Chanel Wilkins as its inspiration left many of us in tears. What a beautiful moment.

We also launched the Interfaith Resilience Scholarship, which will support students committed to building bridges across faiths. Our future is bright because of leaders like them.

Let’s continue this work. Let’s keep coming together in faith, in community, and in love.

Once a year, Jewish Federation of Greater Raleigh invites leaders across Greater Raleigh to gather for connection, sharing and meaning.

This week some members of the HSIA will be meeting together for an Inter-Community Seder, all leaders from across Greater Raleigh representing religious and community groups, government officials, first responders, businesses, non-profits, and other organizations, gather in a spirit of fellowship to emphasize not our differences, but what we have in common.

Passover, the Jewish holiday of freedom, remembers the story of the Exodus, the ancient Hebrew's liberation from slavery in Egypt. Each year, Jewish families around the world host a Passover Seder in which they retell the story of Passover, while eating foods with symbolic significance. Throughout history, the Passover story and its theme of freedom has been inspirational to not only the Jewish people but to many faiths and communities. At a time where mounting hatred and polarization threatens to pull our communities apart, we believe this Inter-Community Seder is the perfect opportunity to learn from each other and find common ground, so we can build a stronger, more inclusive Raleigh.
