Sandra Walls is an assistant governor for Rotary District 6800 and chairs Interact, a Rotary-sponsored service club for high school students. The Holly Springs Rotary Club is in the process of establishing Interact Clubs at both Holly Springs High School and Marshall Academy, and she emphasized how important it is for each Rotary Club to invest in the youth of its community and build leaders. “Create a lasting impact,” she said.

Susie Brown, director of the Holly Springs Career and Technical Center, urged members of the Rotary Club to help inspire students in the school district.
“I know all of you are busy, but you’re never too busy,” she said as part of a May 13 Rotary meeting. “Give us 30 minutes. Our students need your advice; they need your guidance.
Brown urged Rotarians to come to the CTC and speak to students, offer job shadowing, and offer unpaid or paid internship opportunities.
“We want you to be a part of what we do,” she said. “There’s talent in our school district. Let’s build those jobs right here at home and keep our talent here.”

Rotary is recognizing World Immunization Week April 24-30th! With our Purple Pinkie Project, we raised awareness of Rotary’s continued effort to eradicate polio. We partnered with Dunkin' Donuts once again to make a big impact through matching funds from the District 6800, the Rotary Foundation, and the Gates Foundation on April 28th. One box of donuts is able to fund polio vaccines for 60 kids. Holly Springs Rotary Club received 44 boxes to be able to vaccinate 2,640 children.
