โ€œEveryone knows a Ben.โ€

In this powerful clip from our annual Comedy Night, Judy shares the origin of Ben Speaks Louder Than Words and the heartbreaking loss that started this mission.

Benjamin Giovangelo was a beautiful, intuitive, creative, sensitive, and loving son. On April 16, 2009, just six days after his 18th birthday, Ben died by su***de.

As Judy shares, there came a moment when โ€œthe pain became greater than the resources available.โ€

That line speaks to the heart of why Ben Speaks exists.

Ben Speaks Louder Than Words was born through Benโ€™s loss, and today it continues as a powerful voice for change. Our mission is to help provide the tools, resources, education, and support that young people, families, schools, and communities need.

Because everyone knows a Ben โ€” an at-risk youth in their community.

Together, we can support all Bens to thrive.

If you or someone you love is struggling, please know that support is available. You are not alone.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the May Miles for Minds 5K as we kicked off Mental Health Awareness Month earlier this month.

We are deeply grateful to the students, families, volunteers, community members, and partners who helped make this event so meaningful. A special thank you to Holliston Youth and Family, HHS, NHS, May Miles for Minds, Holliston DAAC, Holliston Park & Rec, Holliston Trails, and the Town of Holliston for helping bring this event to life.

This 5K was more than just a community event. It was a reminder of the power of connection, conversation, and showing up for one another.

At Ben Speaks, we believe that breaking the stigma around mental health and su***de prevention begins with moments like these โ€” when families, students, schools, and community organizations come together with a shared purpose.

Thank you for being part of this important kickoff to Mental Health Awareness Month. Letโ€™s continue building connection, spreading awareness, and making sure support is available to those who need it most.
