D-Day June 6, 1944
Let's us not forget this day in June,
Of the men who gave their all.
Four thousand men lost their lives too soon,
As a beach head was installed.
They hit the beach at Ohmaha,
Juno's shore and Utah's too.
They came from near and oh so far,
To fight for what was true.
The captured people of that land,
Had lost their liberty.
We sent the best of all our boys,
To set those people free.
They came from all around that day,
From Austrailia out to old Norway.
But mostly from the USA,
To end the evils of that day.
When tyranny usurps prestige,
Then something has been lost,
For depravity must be besieged,
Regardless of the cost.
