Friends of Holliston Trails - Massachusetts

Friends of Holliston Trails - Massachusetts Our group (501c3) was founded in 2012, dedicated to supporting the maintenance and development of the Holliston trail system. Friends of Holliston Trails, Inc.

(FOHT) is a registered 501c3 founded in 2012. It was established to support the 6.7 mile rail trail created through years of work by the Town of Holliston. FOHT collaborates in close partnership with the town-appointed Holliston Trails Committee (HTC). We’re comprised of volunteers who drive awareness of the trail and fundraise on behalf of trail needs. The money we raise supports trail maintenance, on-trail amenities, and community programming to drive awareness.

We have exciting progress to share on the Holliston Bike Park since our February update!

*CPC Funding Approved – Your Support Matters*
Our application for $650,000 in Community Preservation Committee (CPC) funding was unanimously approved and is now pending final approval at the Annual Town Meeting on May 11th. It is crucial for our supporters to attend and show their support to help bring this project to reality.

*$10,000 Matching Challenge from Friends of Holliston Trails*
We are thrilled to announce that Friends of Holliston Trails (FOHT) is offering an incredible $10,000 matching donation challenge. Every dollar donated to the Holliston Bike Park GoFundMe campaign will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $10,000. This is a huge boost to our grassroots fundraising efforts and a great way to make your donation go twice as far!

*Design and Conservation Review Progress*
Our bike park design has been reviewed with engineers and the Conservation Commission, receiving positive feedback all around. We are targeting final approval at the March 31st Conservation Commission meeting.

*Grassroots Donations Continue to Grow*
Thanks to the generosity of the community, we have raised over $12,000 in donations, including major contributions from local businesses like Paul Macrina Electrical and Gleeson Powers. Every donation brings us closer to our goal of completing the bike park for Holliston families and riders of all ages.

*Media Coverage Coming Soon*
Keep an eye out for an upcoming feature in the Holliston Town News, and possibly a segment on Holliston Cable Access (HCAT). These stories will highlight the progress and community impact of the bike park.

*How You Can Help*
-Attend Town Meeting on May 11th to support CPC funding
-Donate via our GoFundMe. Every dollar counts and will be matched by Friends of Holliston Trails up to $10,000
-Spread the word by sharing our posts and updates with friends and neighbors

Thank you for your continued support! Together, we are building a safe, fun, and welcoming bike park for Holliston.

Hello, Neighbors! With Spring a mere day away, we think it's a great time to talk about a community project on the cusp of becoming a reality.

A few years back, a group of neighbors formed Holliston Bike Park with a vision to build a bike park in town. They are *so close* and we need community support for this final push.

✅General town support secured
✅Site has been identified
✅Preliminary design has been created

Which brings us to the final stages of making a bike park a reality for Holliston. Funding will come from two sources (grassroots fundraising and CPC funding), each source required for different purposes. We are excited to announce a $10,000 matching donation challenge to support grassroots efforts. For every dollar Holliston Bike Park raises through their GoFundMe campaign, Friends of Holliston Trails will match dollar for dollar (up to $10k).

There are three things you can do to help us:

👍Like, comment, and share our posts (or Holliston Bike Park posts)
💲 Make a donation (even $5 donations get us closer to the goal). We have about 6 weeks before Annual Town Meeting to close the fundraising gap and our matching donation will make a significant impact. Link to their GoFundMe campaign is below.
📅 Holliston Bike Park is requesting CPC funding at Annual Town Meeting on May 11 to cover the majority of the bike park build. Join us to vote in favor of allocating CPC funds to this project.

It may be on the chilly side tomorrow, but we’re bringing a tropical vibe! 🌴

The Steel Community Steel Drum Band will be performing at the Blair Square Pavilion. (Don’t worry—they probably won’t be wearing shorts 😄.)

Even if you’re not up for walking the trail, come hang out and enjoy the fun at Blair Square!

We’re looking forward to First Night tomorrow! ❄️

The DPW will be sanding the trail due to some icy patches, so please bundle up, wear good hiking or walking shoes, and watch your step.

Paper lanterns will be handed out, but we also encourage you to bring a flashlight to help light some of the darker stretches.

And for the youngsters in the crowd—don’t miss the scavenger hunt! Pick up a First Night Quest Card, find at least 4 stations with one of the symbols, get a stamp from the firepit host, and bring it to T.C. Scoops during their usual hours for a free ice cream!🍦
