Holy Week – Holy Thursday

The Kiss of Betrayal

In the Garden of Gethsemane, Judas came close to Jesus and greeted Him with a kiss — a sign that was meant to be love, but became betrayal.

Jesus did not run.
He did not hide.
He did not fight.

He stood in peace, because He knew that even betrayal was part of the path that would lead to the cross… and to our salvation.

Sometimes the deepest pain comes not from strangers, but from those closest to us.
And yet, Jesus chose love. He chose forgiveness. He chose to continue.

This moment reminds us that God is still in control, even in the moment of betrayal, pain, and darkness.
What looks like defeat is often the beginning of God’s greatest victory.

Have you ever been hurt by someone close to you, and what did you learn from it?

The gospel is the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ. God did not intend for this message to remain hidden among believers; He commanded His followers to share it with the world. When Christians remain silent out of fear, comfort, or indifference, many people may continue living without hearing the truth that can save their souls.

Silence about the gospel can mean missed opportunities for others to hear about God’s love, forgiveness, and the gift of eternal life. While only God can save a person, He chooses to use believers as messengers of His truth. Every Christian has a responsibility to speak about Christ and point others to Him.

Sharing the gospel is an act of love and obedience. If we truly care about people, we will not keep quiet about the message that can rescue them from eternal separation from God.

Mark 16:15
“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”

Romans 10:14
“How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?”

He knew what was coming… the pain, the betrayal, the cross... and still, He chose humility. He knelt. He served. He loved to the very end. This is the heart of Jesus... not power as the world defines it, but love expressed through service. 🙏

So today, maybe greatness doesn’t look like being seen… maybe it looks like quietly serving, loving when it’s hard, and choosing humility anyway. “Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet.” — John 13:14 If you want to slow down and reflect more deeply this week, I’ve shared devotionals and peaceful worship playlists on the link on our page. 💛

Save this as a reminder of what love looks like.
