Program Day 7 was an absolute success! 💚🌱📈

The entire day centered on navigating change in leadership and learning how to grow through those transitions. We were incredibly fortunate to hear from inspiring leaders who shared their real-life experiences and insights.

A huge thank you to Ana Cortez, Hollister’s newest City Manager, for sharing her journey and what it truly means to lead and serve our community.

Thank you as well to Brad van Dam for being our Lunchtime Leadership Spotlight and for speaking on building, leading, and creating successful teams in business.

Our nonprofit speed rounds were a highlight of the day, giving participants the opportunity to connect in small groups and engage in meaningful Q&A conversations. We appreciate the incredible representatives from:

🌟 Rebekah’s Children’s Services
🌟 San Benito County Business Council

We wrapped up the day with our amazing wellness facilitator, Kathy Sheridan, who reminded us of the importance of self-care for both mind and body. Leadership comes with many challenges, and taking care of ourselves is essential to showing up as our best.

We are so grateful for another impactful day of growth, connection, and leadership! ⛰️📗

Our Program Manager, Brenda Brenda Carpenter Weatherly, attending the Executive Director’s Roundtable, learning new ideas and strategies to help bring the very best leadership back to San Benito County’s Leadership Program! 👏🏼📣🌱✅

Last week, nonprofit leaders from across San Benito County gathered for our first Executive Directors Roundtable of the year. It was a great opportunity to meet our CEO, Cassandra, connect with one another, and have honest conversations about the challenges, successes, and realities of nonprofit work.

Thank you to everyone who joined us. We’re already looking forward to the next!

Last Friday, Program Day Six left us inspired! 🌱💫

Our cohort dove deep into inclusive leadership, diversity, equity, and understanding through powerful conversations and hands-on activities that challenged perspectives and strengthened their leadership lens.

We began the day with “What’s in a Name?” led by Gretchen Blatter, who opened our eyes to the origins of words we use every day, and how language can carry meaning we may not even realize.

During our Lunchtime Leader spotlight, Mary Casillas, CEO of Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital, shared her leadership journey and the responsibility that comes with leading inclusively in healthcare and beyond.

We closed the day with an impactful panel featuring Judge Omar Rodriguez, Tom Breen, and Elvira Robinson, who reminded us why diversity, inclusion, and equity are not just values, but commitments we must carry into every decision we make as leaders.

We ended the program day by walking over to the San Benito County Superior Court for a behind-the-scenes tour led by Tim Newman, giving our cohort a deeper understanding of our local justice system and the leadership it takes to serve our community with integrity.

Thank you to our incredible participants, facilitators, and speakers for leaning into such an important and meaningful conversation. The future of leadership in our community is bright 💡💚📗⛰️
