What a beautiful evening. ✨

The Latino Generations Scholarship Committee is incredibly happy, honored, and proud to have celebrated our 2026 Scholarship recipients this evening surrounded by their families, friends, and our community.

There were so many moments of inspiration and emotion tonight. The dreams, the visions, and the determination of these students remind all of us why we do this work. We are beyond excited to see where their paths will take them this year’s cohort is heading to universities and programs all across California, and we are sending off future lawyers, engineers, dancers, architects, and so much more.

Hollister and San Benito County, be proud, these incredible young people are from here, and the future they are building belongs to all of us.

To our scholars: thank you for trusting us to walk alongside you. To our donors, families, and community: thank you for making this possible, year after year. 🙏

El Comité de Becas Latino Generations se siente increíblemente feliz, honrado y orgulloso de haber celebrado esta noche a nuestros becarios del 2026, rodeados de sus familias, amistades y nuestra comunidad.

Hubo tantos momentos de inspiración y emoción. Los sueños, las visiones y la determinación de estos estudiantes nos recuerdan a todos por qué hacemos este trabajo. Estamos emocionados de ver hacia dónde los llevarán sus caminos esta generación se dirige a universidades y programas por todo California, y estamos despidiendo a futuros abogados, ingenieros, bailarines, arquitectos y mucho más. 🎓

Hollister y el condado de San Benito, siéntanse orgullosos, estos increíbles jóvenes son de aquí, y el futuro que están construyendo nos pertenece a todos.

Since 2016, the Latino Generations Scholarship Program has helped support Latino students as they continue their educational journeys. What began with a generous $10,000 gift from Fr. Larry Betrozoff, awarded to eight Latinas who graduated from Hollister High School, has continued as a commitment to investing in our community’s future.

On the night of May 20, 2026, we had the honor of celebrating 11 of our amazing scholarship recipients who are graduating in the Class of 2026. These scholarships support students with financial need who will be attending a two-year college, four-year university, or certified vocational training institution.

To our recipients: your dedication, drive, enthusiasm, and heart inspire our committee and the work we do. We are so proud to support you as you take this next step. Keep on shining. We can’t wait to see where your hearts will take you.

Desde 2016, el Programa de Becas Latino Generations ha apoyado a estudiantes latinos mientras continúan sus caminos educativos. Lo que comenzó con una generosa donación de $10,000 del Padre Larry Betrozoff, otorgada a ocho latinas graduadas de Hollister High School, ha continuado como un compromiso de invertir en el futuro de nuestra comunidad.

La noche del 20 de mayo de 2026, tuvimos el honor de celebrar a 11 de nuestros increíbles beneficiarios de becas que se gradúan con la Clase de 2026. Estas becas apoyan a estudiantes con necesidad económica que asistirán a un colegio comunitario, universidad de cuatro años o institución certificada de capacitación vocacional.

A nuestros estudiantes: su dedicación, esfuerzo, entusiasmo y corazón inspiran a nuestro comité y el trabajo que hacemos. Estamos muy orgullosos de apoyarlos en este próximo paso. Sigan brillando. No podemos esperar para ver hasta dónde los llevará su corazón.

Board Member Spotlight ✨

Latino Generations Scholarship is proud to highlight the dedicated board members who help make our scholarship program possible. Our board members bring years of experience in education, law, community service, advocacy, business, nonprofit leadership, and local organizing. Through their work, they continue to support Latino students with financial need who are pursuing higher education, whether at a two-year college, four-year university, or certified vocational training institution.

Each board member plays an important role in carrying forward our mission of appreciating the past and cultivating the future by investing in students, opening doors, and helping the next generation reach their educational goals. We are grateful for their leadership, dedication, and commitment to our students and community.

Latino Generations Scholarship se enorgullece en destacar a los dedicados miembros de nuestra mesa directiva, quienes ayudan a hacer posible nuestro programa de becas. Nuestros miembros aportan años de experiencia en educación, leyes, servicio comunitario, abogacía, negocios, liderazgo sin fines de lucro y organización local. A través de su trabajo, continúan apoyando a estudiantes latinos con necesidad económica que están persiguiendo una educación superior, ya sea en un colegio comunitario de dos años, una universidad de cuatro años o una institución certificada de capacitación vocacional.

Cada miembro de la mesa directiva desempeña un papel importante en llevar adelante nuestra misión de apreciar el pasado y cultivar el futuro, invirtiendo en los estudiantes, abriendo puertas y ayudando a la próxima generación a alcanzar sus metas educativas. Thank you, Latino Generations Scholarship!
I am studying at UC Merced pursuing a double major in Psychology and Sociology with an emphasis in Justice, Law and Society, along with a minor in Chicano Studies.

I am the founder and vice president of the M.E.Ch.A. club and serve as a coordinator at the service center for undocumented students. I am also part of the first mariachi at UC Merced.

Additionally, I was nominated by my professors to be part of the Chancellor’s Ambassador Program and serve as an official representative of UC Merced.

Thank you to for hosting us last Tuesday. We have so much to be thankful for— grateful for the community of San Benito County and for the young people who continue to inspire us. Every year, we receive scholarship applications from students who will be our future leaders.

The Latino Generations Scholarship Program began in 2016 with a generous $10,000 gift from Fr. Larry Betrozoff, which supported eight Latinas from San Benito High School. Today, we continue that legacy by awarding scholarships to Latino students with economic need who are attending two-year universities, four-year universities, or certified vocational training institutions.

We celebrate our scholars at our annual Scholarship Reception- usually in May- where students and their families share their stories with us. For nearly a decade, we’ve kept the personal connection with our community alive. We can feel the love, and we’re grateful for your help in making us grow.
