CASA of San Benito County

CASA of San Benito County CASA trains & supports volunteers who advocate for abused & neglected children placed in foster care.

CASA of San Benito County receives referrals from the Judge of the Juvenile Dependency Court. When appointed, a trained volunteer advocate reviews the case information and consults with professionals to develop a case plan. Working closely with the other partners in the system - social workers, attorneys, foster parents, group homes - the advocate prepares a case plan focusing on the priority issu

e for the child. Prior to each court hearing, the advocate prepares a court report with their evaluations and recommendations for the child. The Juvenile Court Judge considers the CASA report along with the social worker's report prior to making a decision. CASA advocates are unique in providing information not usually available to the Court. Through consistent personal contact with the child, the advocate's perspective provides objective and invaluable recommendations to the judge to help guide his or her decisions.

We had a wonderful time celebrating the compassion, dedication, and impact you bring to the children and youth we serve. Thank you for spending the evening with us and allowing us the opportunity to recognize all that you do.

The evening was a reminder of the advocacy, connection, and the caring individuals who make our mission possible. ✨

We are so excited to share that Senate Concurrent Resolution 162, introduced by Tom Umberg, honors the incredible impact of CASA volunteers across California. 👏🏻🎉
Every hour you give, every moment you show up, and every child you advocate for truly matters. Your dedication has always made a difference and now, it’s being recognized at the state level.
May 7th will officially be recognized as CASA Appreciation Day in California, a day created to celebrate the life changing work you do in our community.
Thank you for showing up, for speaking up, and for changing lives. You are seen and you are so valued. Thank to our CASA’s supporting our community here in San Benito County💙

On March 30th, our incredible CASA volunteers came together to connect with our Spring 2026 Advocates—sharing advice, stories, and meaningful experiences. 💙

It was a truly special evening filled with warmth, support, and a deep admiration for the children and youth we serve in our community.

We are deeply grateful to our dedicated advocates who continue to show up, give their time, and make a lasting impact in the lives of our youth. Thank you for taking the time to mentor and inspire our newest advocates with your wisdom and experience.

Congratulations to our Spring 2026 Advocates! 🧑‍⚖️💙

Last week, we proudly swore in our newest Court Appointed Special Advocates: Alma B. De La Rosa, Ariana Sandoval, Carla Alonzo, and Patricia Padron.
Each of these incredible individuals has completed extensive training and stepped forward with a shared mission: to stand beside children and youth and ensure their voices are heard. Their commitment, compassion, and willingness to serve will make a meaningful difference in our community.

From setting up and cleaning, to arranging beautiful flowers, passing out food, and jumping in wherever needed—you showed up with dedication, teamwork, and heart.

Your hard work played such an important role in bringing this event to life, and we are so grateful for each and every one of you.
