Here's a local report out of Monterey County.... not good news!
Yes, we are poisoning our children, ourselves, and our Planet with every bite.
My brother had a spinal cord tumor and is now paralyzed from the neck down. He went to school here in Hollister, where the schools are surrounded by farms.
Direct connection? We'll never know. What I do know is cancer rates have gone up 44% since 1950...
Chemicals are insidious. They sit in our bodies and fester, mixing with the other hundreds (more likely thousands) of other chemicals we passively trust(-think soaps, air fresheners, deodorant ect...)
Eating is something we all do every day. If its not labeled as "organic", then you are consuming a free for all, chemical soup of herbicides, pesticides, fungicides and insecticides.
Know your food-grow your food.
Support organic farmers.....!!

A new report on pesticide use near schools is being held up by health and farmworker advocates as proof children in the Salinas Valley are at risk, while farmers say the report is big on implications but short on facts.
