Big shout out to some special folks on the trail committee getting these new signs up in the Hollis town Forest!

Willie Walker actually made all these signs on his own CNC machine, worked closely with the Harry and Sherry from trail committee, Doug Sattler from the snowmobile club and the Hollis Forest committee

These new map boards and trail signs will help folks enjoy our trails even more! 🙏

Get out and take a hike! Some great first day hikes below...

Busy morning on the trails! Went out to cut a tree that was down and reported on TrailCare. As soon as that was done I got flagged down by a couple folks that found a cell phone on the trails so I took that so I could bring it to the police station

Before I could get to the police station, I ran into a couple that was desperately lost so I picked them up in the UTV and dropped them off at the Silver Lake parking lot.

All in a day's (Volunteer) work 💪

Get out on the trails people It's beautiful out there in the town forest today! ❤️

We finally cleared the culvert and hopefully this will alleviate the flooding problem on the wheeler road trail

Here's a cool video of the whirlpool that it created once I got it clear

Today was purely a magical fall day in the Hollis town forest. Please remember it's hunting season and you and your dog should be wearing blaze orange.

The town forest allows hunting so please keep yourself safe!

Yesterday Eric met up with Tyrell from Nashua Regional Planning Commission to setup a trail counter to study the amount of traffic on our Hollis trail system. We selected a location just outside of Silver lake entrance that is one of the most popular ingress points to the town forest

These data counters are very similar to the counters you see across the roads here and there and use air pressure and IR detectors that count bikes, pedestrians, horses etc.

Please DO NOT TOUCH this device, it'll be up for a few weeks and we will use this data to better understand activity / trail use patterns to make the trails better for our users.

We picked one of the hottest days of the year yesterday to do some trail maintenance off Hayden road.

New trails committee member Joe Birch and I did some weedwacking and brush cutting to make the trail more usable. Nobody want's a big goldenrod full of spiders in the face!
Cutting the trail back and trimming the tall grass also reduces the possibility of ticks and the dangers of Lyme disease.

We stopped by Henrys view (Named after Joe's Grandfather) and cut the tall grass up there as well. Nice to see Joe Birch enjoying the land his family owned for many years and passed onto the town to preserve for all of us to enjoy! We encourage you to get out and enjoy the beautiful trails we are so lucky to have in town
