Help us and our neighboring clubs, the Limington Wheelers ATV Club, Inc. and S**o River Riders ATV Club! Bring some tools on your next ride to trim back any brush overhanging the trails and collect any trash you find. Let us know where you worked and for how long so we can log your work hours! Update 6/10/26

Maine Game Wardens have made an arrest in connection to this incident. A Waterboro man was charged with aggravated assault (Class B), reckless operation of ATV (Class D), and failing to stop and identify for landowner (Class E).

The arrest was the result of video and trail camera footage as well as multiple tips reported to the Maine Warden Service that assisted with investigation leading to a search warrant.

We are thankful for the support shown by the public in this case, an incident which threatened the well-being of a Maine landowner, future access to private land, and the reputation of Maine’s ATV community.

A ride without respect isn’t worth the cost.

Maine Warden Service is looking for information regarding the owner and operator of a side by side ATV that struck and dragged a landowner who had stopped the ATV on his property.
Last night at approximately 8:30 p.m. on the Pequawket Lake Road in Limington, a landowner watched a side by side ATV ride through their property at a high rate of speed. When the ATV returned a few minutes later, the landowner was able to stop the ATV, and told him he needed to slow down. When the landowner attempted to photograph the ATV and the registration, the operator rapidly accelerated, striking the landowner and dragging him 75 feet before he got away. The landowner was treated at the hospital for abrasions and contusions and was released last night.
The ATV is a one bench side by side that seats two people and is gray and black in color with a prominent brush guard on the front of the ATV. The ATV was driven by a male operator in an orange shirt, with a female passenger who had dark hair.
Anyone with any information is encouraged to contact the Regional Communications Center dispatch in Augusta at 207-624-7076 ext. 9 or contact MaineOperation Game Thief at 1-800-ALERT-US or maineogt.org if they wish to remain anonymous.

We have met with multiple Landowners, and neighboring landowners along the trail! With the closures we were facing we were able to mediate and take preventive measures! We are utilizing Local Game Wardens, State Police and cameras to address the riders that have been having negative exchanges with our landowners who we owe and dedicate all of our appreciation too! We will accommodate and exceed expectation to protect them and our trails! We will not allow riders to harass or yell any obscenities, conduct yourself appropriately while your on our trails and show the upmost respect to our landowners, with out them, we have no trails! We have posted more signage along Number 1 Rd (Moymadayo), Pequawket Lake Rd, Skip Rd! Please follow the suggested speed limit, dont spin and please just stay slow! We ask anyone with poor exchanges or misconduct to call our local Game Wardens and give your best information, what there riding, wearing, photo or video. That being said we are examining our signage thats been getting tampered or damaged, if caught in person or on camera we will proceed and allow the Wardens to handle it what ever they deem fair!
Please ride respectfully, responsibly, and safe!

Today is the day, trails are open! There will be no dust! Trails will be a bit saturated from this rain. PLEASE take it easy and don't tear them up! Please use 4 wheel drive when needed to keep from spinning unnecessarily. Let's have a good start to a LONG season and respect our landowners and the trails so they are in good shape for a while! Thanks everyone for being patient waiting for opening day! Have Fun!
