Save The Planetarium is a fundraising group raising money to provide new programs for students to use as well as public education.

Back from the Brink

Experience on the giant screen the remarkable true story of three animal species rescued from brink of extinction. Join this amazing adventure to save California’s enchanting Channel Island Fox, China’s fabled Golden Monkey and the wondrous migrating crabs of Christmas Island. Discover the heartfelt and ingenious human efforts to rescue endangered species around the world.

‘Meteorites & Impactites’ with the Show ‘Firefall’
You will see and handle some actual meteorites and impactite material. Our collection includes Meteorites from our Moon and other solar system asteroids. You’ll see Earth rocks that have been hit by meteorites.

The date for the Community Enrichment Series has been changed to Tuesday, 1/28
Join the Hollidaysburg Planetarium for the third session of the Community Enrichment Series.
Turn back the pages of time and witness the world's ancient wonders as they have not been seen for thousands of years. We will investigate the theories of how these wonders were created and get a glimpse of some of the universe's greatest wonders. "Seven Wonders" is narrated by British actor Sean Bean, who played Boromir in the feature film trilogy Lord of the Rings
The show is a combination of generated images and real images. Following the show participants may join a short kids interactive building activity in the classroom.

“Cosmic Christmas” is at 6 PM on Fri., 12/13 and 11 AM on Sat., 12/14 It pairs popular holiday songs with a digital light show set to stunning visuals on the planetarium dome featuring 16 hits from the likes of Bing Crosby, Paul McCartney, and Maria Carey. A very dynamic show.
“Let it Snow is a holiday music show celebrating the winter season is at 7 PM on Fri., 12/13 and noon on Sat., 12 14. It contains artistic impressions of various popular winter holiday music come to life on the dome transporting the entire family to a magical wonderland of music and light. Bells and reindeer, presents and cookies, snow and nutcrackers in colorful spectacles of fun. “Let It Snow” features a new variety of festive classics from Frank Sinatra and Chuck Berry to Burl Ives and Brenda Lee, and includes a stunning multi-media finale by the Trans Siberian Orchestra.
Our AstroMart will be open to the public (meaning that NO ticket purchase is required to shop at AstroMart) on Friday any time from 5:00 PM to 7 PM and Saturday from 10:00 AM until noon. This year is VERY special! ALL merchandise is 50% off. For images of most of the merchandise, please go to astroprof.com and scroll down the page. This is a great place to shop for unique low cost gifts for everyone from toddlers to adults. There are 1000’s of items to choose from.

Our last weekend of Planetarium Shows and our AstroMart deep discount sales.
Hollidaysburg Planetarium required reservations for Friday evening, Dec. 13 and Saturday midday, Dec. 14, at astroprof.com are NOW OPEN.

Both shows are musical shows and singing along is encouraged for both shows.
