Keystone Pinups, a 501c3 nonprofit, volunteer organization, strives to follow in the footsteps of the original canteen girls who stood as a symbol of American volunteerism and femininity. We volunteer our time and efforts to raise funds and awareness for various Veteran, Military Service Member and First Responder charities. We are much more than just a calendar and seek volunteers with a heart fo

r our mission and a focus on charity. We are very concerned about the issues our Veterans and their families face such as PTSD, wounded/homeless/hungry Veterans and the proper care of aging Vets as well as giving them all, regardless of age or service, the proper respect and thanks they deserve. Approximately every three minutes a memory of World War II dies. We are losing our World War II vets at a rate of approximately 550 a day. This means there are approximately only 1.2 million veterans remaining of the 16 million who served our nation in World War II. What started as a simple desire to visit these aging Veterans in various retirement facilities has grown quickly and shown a great need for expansion. Not simply geographically but individually, spanning multiple generations. In 2014 we have had the opportunity to expand our outreach nationally and further aid our nation’s heroes in their times of need. With each new chapter, we attempt to identify the greatest needs within that local community. Whether it is aiding the elderly, working in transitional facilities or assisting with issues such as PTSD or Surviving Spouses, the local community can be assured that funds raised and services rendered remain within their own community. With a dedicated team of volunteers, we are striving to bring back the original purpose of the Canteen Girls of WWI & WWII who stood as a symbol of volunteerism and femininity. The efforts of these Canteen Girls were to help maintain morale while providing comfort and entertainment with limited supplies. While the troops were entertained for a few hours by various musicians and actors before leaving for locations unknown, the real stars of the show were the volunteers cooking, serving and washing up dishes. What sets us apart from similar pinup groups is our focus on charitable works. Through an application process and review, our volunteers are prepared to serve those that have served us. While we may pull certain aspects of our appearance from reenactors and “pinup” girls, our focus and goal is to give back to our heroes. While you may find us out within the community with the appearance of the classic pinup, you will find us as often in jeans and t-shirts, serving up meals, assisting the elderly at public events or simply spending time with our heroes as they share their stories. Additionally, we try to maintain a strong family-friendly appearance, both in print and in public. We strive for your grandparents to appreciate our work as much as your children.
