The Pennsylvania Activity Professionals Association (PAPA) is proud to launch the inaugural Pennsylvania Activity Professional Awards, recognizing the creativity, dedication, leadership, service, and community impact of activity professionals and programs across Pennsylvania!

Awards will be presented at the 2026 Pennsylvania Activity Professionals Conference: Activities… A Blank Canvas, October 4–7, 2026, at The Penn Stater.

This year’s award categories include:

🚀 Trailblazing Professional Award – Honoring an emerging activity professional with less than 3 years of experience who demonstrates innovation, creativity, and exceptional promise.

💛 Spirit of Dedication Award – Celebrating a seasoned professional with 20+ years of service whose commitment, mentorship, and impact have left a lasting legacy.

🌍 Pennsylvania Community Impact Award – Recognizing an individual, program, or team that has built meaningful connections and made a positive impact beyond the facility walls.

Now is the time to recognize the outstanding professionals, teams, and programs that enrich lives every day. If someone comes to mind, nominate them and help us celebrate the incredible work happening across Pennsylvania!

Eligible nominees must be an individual activity professional, have less than 3 years of experience in the field, be actively working in Pennsylvania.

Nominees will be recognized for innovation, fresh programming ideas, leadership potential, meaningful resident engagement, enthusiasm, initiative, dedication, and positive contributions to their team and environment.

💛 Spirit of Dedication Award
This award celebrates a seasoned activity professional with 20 or more years of service, honoring their commitment, mentorship, and lasting impact on the field.

Eligible nominees must be an individual activity professional with a minimum of 20 years of experience and must be actively working in or have served in Pennsylvania.

Nominees will be recognized for long-term dedication, mentorship, excellence in programming, positive influence on workplace culture, team development, and the lasting legacy they have created within their organization and community.

🌍 Pennsylvania Community Impact Award
This award honors individuals, programs, or teams that have made a significant impact beyond the facility by strengthening connections with the broader community.

Eligible nominees may be an individual, program, or team and must demonstrate outreach beyond the facility setting.

Nominees will be recognized for community involvement, partnerships, positive impact on residents and the community, sustainability, creativity in building community connections, inclusion, and meaningful engagement.

Happy Memorial Day from The Pennsylvania Activity Professionals Association 🇺🇸

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their courage, sacrifice, and dedication will never be forgotten.

Memorial Day is more than the start of summer—it is a time for reflection, gratitude, and remembrance. We are especially mindful of the veterans, families, residents, and communities whose lives have been touched by service and sacrifice.

From all of us at The Pennsylvania Activity Professionals Association, we wish you a meaningful and peaceful Memorial Day. May we continue to honor the fallen by living with kindness, respect, and appreciation for the freedoms they helped protect.

Our state is in the top 5 out of the country in have activity professionals certified by NCCAP! I am proud to be a part of that number ! Coming to conference is a big part of this ! Keep showing up as there will be great things happening !!!!
