With school break right around the corner, the kind volunteer Moms who help host the group are getting themselves ready to survive the summer (as we sure many of you are, too!)

NEEDED - BIKE ENTHUSIASTS WITH BIG HEARTS!

After a couple years of transition and the retirement of our beloved and talented Bike Repair Person, Michigan Fosters is hoping to revitalize our Bike Cycle program, but we need help. We are in search of an individual, group, or cycling business that has a love for all things bicycle repair/maintenance and a heart for kiddos in foster care. We can find the kids who need the bikes, but we aren't quite handy enough to get the bikes in working order for them.

Foster/Kinship Mamas! We did not forget you this Mother's Day - we've just been trying to survive May!

As such, we are choosing to celebrate all you do in June this year once all of our worlds have calmed down a bit. We have room for 15 of you to join us for food and fun on Thursday, June 25 at Journey Home from 6-8pm. Our amazing Board of Directors and top-notch volunteers are busy creating a night to thank you for all you do, so be on the lookout for a sign-up form in the coming weeks as space is limited.

Community Impact Day with the Michigan West Coast Chamber of Commerce was a complete success! Our volunteers from Request Foods and Perrigo were absolutely amazing and accomplished more in three hours than our small organization could do on its own in an entire month.

The Journey Home house is squeaky clean, the yard is ready for summer, and our Mitten Meal freezer is full of tasty meals for foster/kinship families across Ottawa County and beyond. We also created 20 fun "Survive the Summer" bundles for the most deserving families and packed up nearly 40 shelf-stable meal kits for Moms and Dads to make with their children when they have parenting visits at Journey Home.

Community Impact Day is one of our very favorite days of the year, and 2026 was no exception. What a gift this is to our West Michigan friends and neighbors!
