Foster/Kinship Family Play (and support) Groups are back for fall, and our next one is Friday, November 6! Any caregiver, past, present or future, is welcome and encouraged to join us on the first Friday of each month through 2026. If you have littles at home, bring them. If you don't have littles but you want to hold some babies, come along, too!

We will have coffee, light snacks, and conversation while supporting one another through the ups and downs of foster/kinship care. We will even send you home with dinner for your family.

Join us Friday, November 6, from 9:30-11:30am at Journey Home (832 E. 8th Street in Holland next to Holland Heights Church). No registration needed, but please comment below so we know how many people to plan for.

Our Ottawa County MDHHS crew is honestly JUST. THE. BEST.

On their recent Bring Your Child to Work Day, they used their volunteer hours to mix up even more tasty meals for the Journey Home freezers. On top of that, the kids raised money to help fund future meal workshops. These sweet babes and their parents deserve a standing ovation for their efforts and kindness in continuing to support the foster community in West Michigan. Thank you, thank you!!

Our Back to School event was a huge success because of the generosity and support of ministries. When the school supplies they had collected were not able to make it to their intended destination, they did not want them to go to waste and allowed our organization to distribute these needed supplies to children in foster and kinship care. Thank you so much for the amazing donation and for helping us prepare foster families for the school year ahead!

The other day, we mentioned to a volunteer (Katrina - who has helped with so many different asks over the years) that we were short on Boys 24M/2T sleepers. Not long after, I received this photo of a paper bag full of sleepers delivered to the foster closet at Journey Home.

We cannot stress enough that Michigan Fosters exists solely because of the people who pour whatever they can into this organization and the families we support. Sometimes it looks like an online donation, sometimes it looks like an hour's worth of cleaning at Journey Home, and sometimes it takes the shape of a paper bag filled with the exact type of clothing our shelves are lacking.

We have a great volunteer opportunity coming up this Monday from 6pm-7:30pm. We need child care for a dad's group. This could be a monthly oppurtunity!
Keeping kids safe is our number one priority so 18 years old and passing a back ground check are requirements!

HELP!!!! Journey Home is being over run with weeds!
If anyone loves to garden/weed or knows a company that would donate some time, boy we could use it!
We would love families to be able to use this space when they visit.
