The Hope College “Many Voices Project” will present a staged reading of “Walden” by Amy Berryman at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 30, in the Schaap Auditorium in the Bultman Student Center. This event is in collaboration with the Hope College’s Advocates for Sustainability (HAS), Green Hope and the Department of Theatre. The reading is free to attend, but seating is limited.

“Walden” follows twin sisters, Stella and Cassie, who have both been raised by their father to become astronauts. However, while Cassie continued to work at NASA and become very successful in her field, Stella left that life-behind-for-a-new one with her fiancé, Bryan, on an Earth that is hanging on by its last thread. Set in a not-so-distant future, the two sisters reunite after being apart for over a year. As they reconnect and old tensions and problems rise to the surface, the sisters must make difficult decisions both for themselves and humanity as a whole.
