Join the Landowner Working Group on a private lands tour of a 12-acre prairie habitat in the Oak Openings Region. Susan and Jon Cross will guide you through their property and discuss the restoration journey of the site. Are you a private landowner in the Oak Openings Region interested in learning more? Join TNC staff, Matty Watkins, at Kitty Todd on Saturday, July 19th from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. for a Sustaining Our Great Lakes (SOGL2) workshop focused on invasive species. This workday will be outdoors at Kitty Todd and is well suited for beginners, though those with foundational knowledge will get extra practice with invasive ID and treatment. The workshop will start with introduction to region, common invasive ID and treatment, followed by a stewardship opportunity at Kitty Todd. This workshop meets grant agreements for our SOGL2 grant, with focus on invasive species control to protect and enhance restored habitat, Sustain Our Great Lakes Program | NFWF Workshop will also include updates on our restoration work through the SOGL2 grant.

April is Ohio Native Plant Month! Lots of great wildflower walks, stewardship events, and plant sales are planned, including many within the Oak Openings, so get out and enjoy all that NW Ohio has to offer this early spring!
