One of the best things about Neighbor to Neighbor?

We don’t have to know everything because our community already knows so much.

Local businesses bring expertise. Nonprofit partners bring resources and connections. Volunteers bring skills and experience. And neighbors bring questions, curiosity, and probably a few things they know that somebody else could use too.

Out On The Lakeshore’s job is simply to help bring everyone together. That’s what Neighbor to Neighbor is about: sharing what we know and making it easier to find what we need.

At Neighbor to Neighbor, we want you to be able to actually do something.

You might learn basic bike maintenance and watch someone demonstrate a repair. You might get help fixing a small sewing issue while learning how to do it yourself next time. You might ask a nonprofit partner a question and leave knowing exactly where to turn for help.

Some stations will teach.
Some will demonstrate.
Some might even help you fix something right there.
Because sometimes a little knowledge and the right connection can make a big difference.

Do you have buttons that need to be reattached or a patch that needs to be sewn on? 🪡 Do you wish you knew more about Budgeting? 🧾 Changing a tire? 🛞 Getting the perfect cat eye? 👩🏼‍🎤 Composting? ♻️

What if the thing you know how to do is exactly the thing someone else has been wishing they knew?

That’s the idea behind Neighbor to Neighbor.

We’re bringing together local businesses, nonprofits, volunteers, and community members to share practical skills, answer questions, connect people with resources, and help one another with some of the everyday things that can make life a little easier.

This isn’t your typical resource fair. It’s meant to be hands-on, welcoming, and useful.

Come learn something. Share something. Meet a neighbor.
