The countdown is on, and we can’t wait for summer camp season to begin!

Behind every great week of camp is an incredible team of coaches who spend lots of time preparing before the first rider even rolls into the parking lot. From first aid and emergency response training to learning how to encourage and support kids, assess and manage risk, perform bike maintenance, and lead groups safely on rides, our coaches put in the work to be ready for whatever the season brings.

What excites us most is their passion... not just for biking, but for helping kids build confidence, resilience, friendships, and a love for being outdoors.

We’re grateful for this amazing team and the energy, care, and enthusiasm they bring to every ride. Summer adventures are just around the corner, and we can’t wait to hit the trails with all of you!

Big things are happening for biking in Holland!

Join us on Friday, June 5 as we celebrate the groundbreaking of the future Holland Bike Park, a new community space designed for riders of all ages and abilities.

Before the ceremony, we will host a casual community bike ride beginning at 1:30 p.m. from the Holland Ice Park Wheelhouse. We'll ride together to the groundbreaking site and celebrate this exciting investment in Holland's growing biking community.

Community Ride Starts: 1:30 p.m.
Groundbreaking Ceremony: 2:00 p.m.
Holland Bike Park Site – 97 N. River Ave.

The future bike park will connect to the Macatawa Greenway and Holland's trail network, creating a place where riders can build skills, gain confidence, and enjoy the outdoors close to home.

We recently received this message from a Velo Kids family and wanted to share it (with permission):

This year, their family unexpectedly welcomed a 9-year-old through foster/fictive kin care. They shared that getting her a bike became so much more than just getting a bike.

They told us biking has been empowering, helped build confidence and self-esteem, given her an outlet to work through hard things, and even become one of the most helpful tools in growing frustration tolerance.

Sometimes a bike is exercise.
Sometimes it’s adventure.
Sometimes it’s freedom.
And sometimes… it becomes part of healing.

To this family: thank you for sharing your story, for your encouragement, and for being part of the Velo Kids community. We can’t wait to ride with your kids this summer at camp.

This is why we keep working to get more kids on bikes. Every kid deserves the chance to ride.
