Chicks for Charity celebrates doing something simple and fun with family, friends or co-workers to raise a few dollars to support under-the-radar charities in northwest Ohio.

🏆 A VERY SPECIAL AWESOME AWARD 🏆

Let's give it up for our YOUNGEST Awesome Award recipient - Junior Chick Miku Zolnor, age 7!

Miku has been a Junior Chick since she was five years old, and she's been showing us what giving back really looks like! With the help of her mom Regina, Miku started running a concession stand at chess tournaments. All proceeds go straight to Chicks for Charity!

And because of her amazing efforts, Miku has been honored with the opportunity to give away $100 to causes she cares about or people doing great things in our community - which is pretty cool at ANY age!

This year, Miku stepped up as a basket champion for Chicks Mix '26, enthusiastically collecting arts and crafts items from friends, family, and local businesses (shout out to Art Supply Depot!).

Outside of her Chicks for Charity work, Miku volunteers in food and toy drives and genuinely believes that donating makes her happy!

Miku reminds us that giving back isn't about age - it's about heart. She's our hero! 💖

Meet our fifth and final honoree: Amy Voigt!

Amy is a storyteller and visual journalist who has taken us on quite the journey - literally! From Rome to Seoul to newsrooms at The New York Times, Boston Globe, and The Blade. Amy has spent her career capturing the human stories that matter.

But here's what we LOVE about Amy - since 2021, she's been right here in Toledo, using her incredible storytelling and visual journalism skills in the Mayor's office to showcase the people, programs, and initiatives that are shaping our city! That's community impact in action! 💖

Amy embraces every adventure and finds joy in the people and places around her.

Fellow Chick Gretchen DeBacker selected Amy for the "Enjoy Life, Laugh a Lot" component of our mantra, and we couldn't agree more!

Kristen is an art educator who has spent 23 YEARS nurturing creativity and self-expression right here in Toledo! Whether she's inspiring students at the Toledo Museum of Art, Christ the King School, or Maumee Valley Country Day School, Kristen brings presence, passion, and purpose to every single classroom.
She doesn't just teach art - she teaches students to see the world through a lens of creativity and self-discovery! That's the kind of wisdom that changes lives! 💖

Fellow Chick Jennifer McCary selected Kristen for the "Share the Wisdom" component of our mantra, because this incredible educator has been generously sharing her gifts with our community for over two decades!

Meet our second honoree: Marissa Morgan.

Marissa is a sophomore honors student at Sylvania Northview High School, and get this - she's ALREADY bridging generations and building community connections in our area!

Back in 7th grade at McCord Junior High, Marissa competed in The Amazing Shake against her entire grade. Her vision? Creating meaningful connections between students and seniors in our community. She WON, and then - here's the best part - she actually made it happen! The intergenerational partnership she created between McCord Junior High School and the Sylvania Senior Center is STILL bringing students and seniors together today!

That's the kind of real, lasting community impact we're talking about! 💖

Tiana is a triple-threat entrepreneur! She's the owner of Styled Hair Co., specializing in blonding, textured hair, and individual extensions, co-owner of Styled Stems, a houseplant boutique that's housed in her salon, AND runs Styled Media Co., a content production agency for beauty professionals and small business owners. Talk about juggling it all!

Fellow Chick Isabella Weik selected Tiana for the "Be Thankful For Our Blessings" component of our mantra, recognizing how Tiana approaches her multiple ventures with genuine gratitude! 💖

At Chicks for Charity, we LOVE celebrating Chicks in our community who are out there doing amazing things! That's why we created the Awesome Awards - because incredible people deserve some serious recognition!

This year, we're honoring FIVE phenomenal individuals who embody our mantra: Enjoy Life, Laugh a Lot; Work Hard, Play Hard; Be Thankful For Our Blessings; Share the Wisdom; and Give Back!

We didn't pick the honorees ourselves! We asked five incredible Chicks to choose the award recipients. And they crushed it and selected some truly wonderful humans!
