With the holidays approaching and SNAP benefits paused and reduced, we can step up for our neighbors! Consider a gift to Community Action House, with whom we've volunteered for more than two decades.
With SNAP support paused for local families, we’ve been scaling our efforts to be there for all who turn to us. Even with news that the administration will use emergency funds to partially fund November SNAP payments, our neighbors are still facing a big challenge.
Families receiving SNAP will only receive half of the amount they’re typically given. And, it may be weeks before families receive any of their November SNAP support. Thousands of local families will need help bridging this gap. This is what we’re ready for, and why we’re here.
We’re recruiting more volunteers, purchasing more food, and readying our team to ensure we’re there for our community in this moment of need. We’re preparing to potentially double our service (or more) this month alone – serving up to 500 families a day, six days a week at Food Club. We’re here to support thousands of additional neighbors in an already busy season, and will provide extra help to families who now have a critical gap in their food budget due to the unexpected freeze in SNAP.
For neighbors who regularly count on SNAP, we know this pause means hard choices — and we’re here to bridge the gap with fresh, healthy food and support.
If you or someone you know is impacted, visit Food Club and find help today! We’re open Monday through Saturday, and our team is ready to help. More information at the link in our comments.
