God provides through the kindness of others!

This past week, our friends at DHHS reached out about a family struggling to make ends meet due to changes in federal assistance and reduced work hours. They needed a washer, so we reached out to our beloved friends at Bekkens, who graciously stepped in to help bless this family. We are so grateful for their generosity and willingness to help ease this family’s burden.

We are also thankful to Community Choice Bank for their September hygiene collection! Their generosity has replenished our shelves with essential hygiene supplies for the individuals and families we serve.

These blessings remind us that God often works through people with caring hearts to bring hope, restore dignity, and meet needs in our community.

With humble and grateful hearts, we share that the case filed against Lifeline Ministries by a person we once served has been permanently dismissed, with prejudice. After a difficult and emotional season, we thank God for carrying us through and are deeply grateful to everyone who prayed for us, stood by us, and continued to believe in the ministry and the work God has called us to do. Lifeline Ministry Update & Needs

By God’s grace, our laundry ministry continues Mondays and Thursdays, and we’re waiting for the new Mobil laundromat on Chicago Drive to reopen so we can resume Saturdays. If you have quarters to donate, you may drop them off at our ministry office today between 10 AM and 1 PM.

We also continue serving meals at Kollen Park on Mondays and Thursdays at 4 PM. Starting November 2, we’ll move back to our ministry building as the weather gets colder.

Help Us Fill Our To-Go Food Bags!

We’re collecting these essentials for our unhoused brothers and sisters and families facing food shortages:
• Peanut butter and jelly
• Canned tuna, chicken, and soup
• Individual applesauce packs
• Cup of Noodles
• Spaghetti sauce
• Peanut butter or cheese crackers
• Trail mix, chips, and fruit snacks
• Men’s and women’s socks
• Deodorant and lip balm

Every donation, big or small, is a blessing to someone in need. Thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus as we continue to serve our community with love, hope, and dignity.

Our Saturday laundry will be on hold until further notice. The Speedway laundromat on Chicago Drive, now under new ownership and called Mobil, is currently closed for renovations. We’ll resume Saturday laundry once they reopen.

Our Monday and Thursday laundry schedule remains unchanged. If you have questions, please call our office.

Yesterday, despite the rain pouring down all day, our amazing volunteers still showed up at Kollen Park—and we were able to serve a warm meal to nearly 40 of our unhoused brothers and sisters. Some came by bike, others on foot, but everyone came ready to share a meal and a little fellowship.

Thank you to our volunteers for continuing to show up with such generous hearts of service.

❤️ A Personal Message From Me
Pastor Willie Watt — I will be taking Sabbatical ❤️
After a lot of prayer, reflection, and some real conversations with the people closest to me, I have made the decision to take a sabbatical for a few weeks.

For the past five and a half-plus years, I have poured my heart and soul into this ministry. There have been many seasons where I have worked 18, 20, and sometimes 24 hours a day, doing whatever needed to be done to serve the people in our community who are experiencing homelessness.
I wouldn't change the people I've met, the lives we've touched, or the moments we've shared for anything. Lifeline Ministries isn't just a ministry to me — it has become a huge part of my heart and my life.
But I have come to realize something important: I need to take care of myself, too.
Because of some health issues, I know that I need to slow down, step back, rest, and give my body and mind the time they need to recover. I also need to spend some much-needed time with my family. They have stood beside me through this entire journey, sacrificed countless hours with me, and supported me while I poured so much of myself into helping others. But at the same times i have missed birthdays, sporting events or simply just being present. ❤️
During this time, I will not be completely gone. I will still be available and pretty much on call only to my team and volunteers when I'm needed.
Marife Vander Schuur will be in charge and if there any issue i need to be informed of she will be in contact with me the whole time. However, I will not be physically present at the office like I normally am, and I will be taking some time off from personally running the laundry service but i do have other who will be there. So please just because im not there, there will be wonderful people there to serve you. But I will be back. So I don't think you can hold off that long so please show up.
If you have any emergency please contact the office and not me on Facebook or messenger. Please contact LIFELine Ministries. I will not be monitoring either. I will also be trying my best to take this time off of social media.
Thankfully, there are some wonderful people who are stepping up to make sure the laundry service and other important parts of the ministry continue. Lifeline Ministries will keep going. The mission will continue, the people we serve will continue to be cared for, and the work will continue.
This isn't me giving up.
It's me recognizing that sometimes, even when your heart says, "Keep going," God tells you, "It's time to rest."
I want to say THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart to every personion who has supported me and Lifeline Ministries over these past years. Thank you for every donation, every prayer, every load of laundry, every bag of food, every volunteer hour, every encouraging word, and every person who simply believed in what we were trying to accomplish.
And most importantly, thank you for continuing to support Lifeline Ministries while I'm taking this time away.
Please keep the ministry, our volunteers, the people we serve, and my family and me in your prayers during this season.
So please, please understand,
I'm not walking away. I'm just taking a breath.
After giving everything I have for so many years, every once in a while i jave to take a little time to heal, rest, reconnect with my family, and allow others to carry the torch for a while.
If you would like to come speak with me, give me some encouragement or just a hug or Mountain Dew🤣😂🤣😂 I will be doing my weekly duties until Friday at 3pm.

EVERY COIN HAS A PURPOSE

A few coins may seem small—but in God’s hands, they can become something much bigger.

People sometimes ask why we continue to share our weekly Laundry Ministry coin drive.

The answer is simple: the need continues.

-We share because there are still people who don't know this ministry is available.

-We share because it gives our community an opportunity to be part of the work—even if all you can give is a few quarters.

-And we share because our weekly laundry funds are limited. Sometimes Pastor Willie has used everything available, but there are still individuals and families waiting at the laundromat who need help. Those extra coins from our community help us say, “Yes, we can help.”

There is no pressure to give. If God puts it on your heart, we are grateful for whatever you can share.

You can drop off coins at our office or meet Pastor Willie at the 16th Street Laundromat today before 2 PM.

CAN YOU HELP SOMEONE FIND HER WAY HOME?

Yesterday, Lifeline Ministries received a call from someone who had encountered an elderly woman in need of help. We responded right away and were able to connect with her and provide a safe place for her to rest.

For her privacy, we’ll call her Belinda.

As we spent time talking with her, she shared that after many years away from home, she feels it is time to return home.
She has a route in mind and knows where she would like to go. What she needs now is simply someone willing to sit with her and help figure out the travel details.

WE NEED YOUR HELP
We are looking for a volunteer who can give approximately 1–2 hours to:
• Sit with Belinda and listen to her preferred travel plans
• Search for bus or train routes that follow her desired route
• Compare dates, times, connections, and travel options
• Help her understand the choices and decide which option works best for her
• Help write down the travel details so she knows what to expect

You do not need to provide transportation or pay for her ticket. We simply need someone who is comfortable using a computer or phone to research travel options and who is willing to offer a little time, patience, and kindness.

Sometimes, standing in the gap means simply sitting beside someone and helping them take the next step.
