This is Maria.
Our team met her on Monday while following up on one of our recent water projects in Mozambique. We had drilled and installed a new well in this community.

She was filling her up buckets at the brand-new well. We asked her if she was enjoying the new well and if it made a difference in her life.

She smiled and said, “Absolutamente!” (absolutely!)

Then she told our team something we didn’t expect.

She still walks two hours each way—four hours every day, to collect water from the new well.
That’s 28 hours every week spent walking under the hot sun, carrying at least 40 pounds of water. (Every full 5 gallon bucket = about 40lbs)

Unbelievable!
Why? Because this isn’t her community’s well.
Her village doesn’t have a well.

A LET’S GO moment????

It’s a beautiful day for 925 people in Retuzo, Mozambique.

A new clean water source has been successfully drilled and constructed. What was once a daily struggle for water is now a future filled with opportunity, better health, and real-time hope.

This isn’t just a new well.

It’s children spending more time in school instead of walking for water. It’s healthier families. It’s stronger communities. It’s brighter futures.

Thank you for making this possible! You are part of a community that is changing the world for children and families who need it most.

Moments like this remind us that when people come together with compassion and purpose, extraordinary things happen.

Two years ago, we set out with a simple goal: help communities in Mozambique build healthier, cleaner places to live.
Today, we’re seeing something even more meaningful.
Across our project areas, community members are organizing cleanups, improving waste management, and taking ownership of creating healthier environments for their children. What started as training and support has grown into local action, with people adapting these ideas, making them their own, and inspiring neighboring communities to do the same.
One of the most inspiring parts? Charity Ball’s CBFC kids (our future leaders) are leading by example.
This is what lasting impact looks like: not just a project, but a movement driven by the people themselves.
Huge credit to our incredible in-country team, whose dedication helped spark the momentum that’s now spreading from community to community.

Vox’s Hygiene & Sanitation Avenger

Meet Pedro Lucino, Vox’s Community Mobilization Technician (CMT) and mild-mannered superhero.

He and Team Vox spend most of the year in remote rural communities, working directly with local leaders, students, and families to build water oversight committees, train well mechanics, and teach essential hygiene and sanitation practices. Pedro’s work is hands-on, transformative, and deeply personal—he helps communities take ownership of their clean water systems and cultivates the next generation of health champions.

Our CMT initiative exists to educate communities and embed health and hygiene values that lead to lasting transformation.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

Our Vox/CBFC Future Leaders Mentoring Program now serves more than 500 children—many of whom have never experienced a true Christmas celebration.

Our team knew it was time to change that.

This week, we hosted a Christmas Feast for the kids, complete with chicken, fresh vegetables, rice, dessert, and a cold soda—simple joys that made the day unforgettable.

Each child also received a brand-new Dri-Fit CBFC Christmas jersey, wrapped not just as a gift, but as a symbol of belonging.

At Vox, we continually ask ourselves: How can our work be truly transformative? How can we help create better lives and brighter futures for children born into a difficult world?

Sometimes, transformation begins with something simple—knowing that you are seen, valued, and worth celebrating.
