1 Corinthians 13

If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge,and if I have a faith that can move mountains,but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient,love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered,it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Today is World Mental Health Day.

We are blessed to be able to a part of a foundation that focuses on pediatric mental health. If you or someone that you know is struggling, please take the time to find a place or a person that you can trust, to seek help.

Sometimes the people that appear to be the strongest, are the ones that are fighting the hardest battles that we can’t see.

Please join us and welcome Kerrie Gill, as our newest board member.

Kerrie grew up in the Toledo area and attended St. Ursula Academy before moving to Colorado, where she earned her degree from the University of Colorado Boulder. She moved to Denver after college and finally made it back home to Northwest Ohio with her husband, Eric, in May 2025.

Professionally, Kerrie has built her career in the technology industry, working closely with organizations to solve complex problems, build strong relationships, and advocate for the people and teams she supports. She has also pursued entrepreneurial ventures rooted in sustainability, education, and giving back, reflecting her belief that meaningful ideas are worth putting into action. In addition to her civilian career, Kerrie has served in the military for over ten years.

Service has been a consistent part of Kerrie’s life. She has volunteered with organizations supporting children, military families, and her local community, including serving as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for children in the foster care system and previously volunteering with Make-A-Wish. During her first military deployment, she was recognized by the Colorado Air National Guard with an Outstanding Volunteer Award for her service while deployed overseas.

Kerrie has always leaned heavily on her faith, especially during seasons of uncertainty and profound loss. Her relationship with God has given her strength, hope, and direction through some of life’s most difficult moments and has deepened her compassion for others facing challenges of their own. The Foundation’s emphasis on faith, hope, love, and service resonates deeply with her and reflects values she strives to live out every day.

Kerrie is also inspired by the way Dan approached life: doing things big and being a person of action rather than simply words. She shares that belief that when something is worth doing, it is worth pursuing with passion, care, and the determination to do it well. She sees serving on the Foundation’s board as an opportunity not only to honor those values, but to put them into action for children and families in the community Dan loved.

Kerrie is honored to serve on the Board of Directors and looks forward to bringing her professional experience, perspective shaped by military service, faith, entrepreneurial spirit, and long-standing commitment to advocacy and volunteerism to the Foundation as it continues to carry forward Dan’s legacy.

Please join us and welcome Eric Szenderski, as our newest board member.

Eric grew up in Toledo and is proud to once again call this community home. He attended St. Catherine of Siena and St. Francis de Sales High School before earning his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Toledo, majoring in Professional Sales and Marketing.

Eric spent over a decade in Denver building a career in technology sales and leadership, work rooted in developing relationships, solving complex problems, and helping people succeed. While his career is demanding, he has always believed in making time to give back to the community that shaped him.

In May 2025, Eric and his wife, Kerrie, moved back to Toledo. Now that they're settled, he's eager to reconnect and find meaningful ways to contribute.

Eric is honored to serve on the Board of Directors and support the foundation's mission of helping individuals and families in our community. He's especially drawn to its commitment to compassionate care, advocacy, and the mental and emotional well-being of children and their families.

He looks forward to bringing his professional experience and his passion for Toledo to the foundation and to helping carry forward Dan's legacy of making a positive impact on the lives of others.

Tonight, we had the honor to continue our tradition of giving a sweet treat from heaven.

Coach Dan always made sure that his runners had special treats and we are certain that he was smiling from heaven tonight.
