CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) volunteers are everyday people from our community — who are specially trained and appointed by a judge to advocate for children who have experienced abuse or neglect.

For many children in foster care, a CASA volunteer is the one consistent adult who remains by their side throughout their case. They gather information, build relationships, and make recommendations to the court based on what is in the child's best interest.

A CASA volunteer provides something every child deserves: a voice, support, and someone who cares. 🌟

⏳ Children currently waiting for a CASA volunteer: 19
🙋 Active CASA Volunteers: 9
💙 Volunteers currently on leave: 1

While we are proud of the support our volunteers provide, there are still too many children waiting for an advocate to stand beside them.

CASA Volunteers help give children in foster care a voice, support, and hope during difficult times. You don’t need special experience — just compassion and a willingness to make a difference.

We remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

A big thank you to Dragonfly Desserts & Coffee House & Bakery for supporting Phelps/Harlan County CASA during Child Abuse Awareness Month with their Give Back Day!

Because of their generosity and everyone who stopped by to support, we were able to raise funds that will help train two new CASA volunteers. 💙

We are so thankful for the support from our community and local businesses that help us continue making a difference for children in Phelps and Harlan Counties!
