Hope Lives Here

Hope Lives Here hlhgrief.org Hope Lives Here, LLC (HLH) is a 501c3 nonprofit organization in Massachusetts. The word kept spreading, and we grew.

Helping people make connections with others who are also struggling with loss by providing support in the form of outreach, peer to peer(one-on-one) support, groups (meditation groups, support groups, etc.) We are here to help people struggling with loss to heal their hearts and build hope. Our mission statement at HLH is to help adults make connections to heal their hearts and build hope during t

imes of grief. Our guiding idea is that HLH will be a place of comfort for adults in times of loss. Further, HLH will strive to help people make connections with others who are also living with loss by offering support groups, peer to peer connections, and community outreach. Our mission, vision, and services paint a picture that HLH was built upon the foundation of loss, compassion, healing, and hope, which we strive to share with you. In May of 2018, we began holding our meetings once a month at the Rutland Library. Eventually, we had a couple of meetings per month at the Rutland Library and the Dunkin Donuts conference room in Worcester. Before the COVID-19 Pandemic, we acquired our own space in Holden. We ran five meetings a month and had excellent attendance at each meeting. Over 300 people walked through our doors last year! Since April 2020, our meetings have been virtual, and we acquired our Zoom account. These meetings are well attended and mean so much to our clients. Since we have gone virtual, we can reach clients from different locations that would not usually meet in-person. We continue to grow and have dreams of expanding to a larger space. Vision

You made it through the hard part.

The conversation. The event. The errand. The gathering.

And you thought... okay. I'm doing alright.

And then you got in your car. Or closed the door behind you. Or finally sat down when everything got quiet.

And that's when it hit.

That's the second hit โ€” and if you've felt it, you're not alone.

Our newest blog post explores why grief often waits until we're finally alone, what it can look like, and a few gentle things that can help when it catches you off guard.

Have you ever held it together in front of people... and felt it all later? We'd love to hear from you in the comments.

Have you ever walked into a room and forgotten why you were there? Lost your train of thought mid-sentence? Read the same paragraph three times and still couldn't focus?

If you're grieving, you're not aloneโ€”and you're not imagining it.

"Grief brain" is a very real response to loss. Grief can affect memory, concentration, decision-making, and even simple daily tasks as your mind and body work through an overwhelming experience. Research shows that grief can create real cognitive changes, often leaving people feeling foggy, distracted, and exhausted.

If you've been frustrated with yourself lately, this blog is a reminder to offer yourself a little extra grace.

๐ŸŒˆ A beautiful new addition to our Community Grief Garden.

At this yearโ€™s Walk to Remember, we officially unveiled our new Rainbow Bridge โ€” a special space created to honor and remember the beloved pets who left paw prints on our hearts. ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’›

Thank you to Tracey Fiorelli - Real Estate for sponsoring the bridge, to Jim Caldwell for building the bridge, and everyone who helped make this meaningful tribute possible and to all who continue to support our mission of healing, hope, and remembrance.
