Wow!! 😮 We are blown away by the support we received at the 100 Neighbors Who Care of Penobscot Valley meeting last night!! 💚🙌🏻 We had the opportunity to present to this wonderful organization along with two other amazing local non-profits!

We are so blessed to announce that we were selected as the overall winner and will receive $23,000 to go towards our Sarah's House Elevated project!! 🙏🏻🛗 This project is designed to increase accessibility and capacity at Sarah’s House by adding an elevator and 4 new ADA-compliant guest rooms. ☺️👏🏻

What is also so cool about all of this is that five years ago this month, Sarah’s House won the first ever 100 Neighbor’s award!! 🥰 Below are the pictures from both awards. 😎

The 2026 Crush Cancer Lobster Crawl 5k is on July 11th in Jonesboro! 🦞🏃‍♀️

Each year a portion of the proceeds are donated to Sarah's House! 💚 And we are incredibly grateful! 🩷🎗️

We are so excited to announce that following over a year of careful planning and dedicated fundraising, we have officially started construction on our Sarah's House, Elevated project!! 🪏🎉 It was a pleasure to have our amazing Board of Directors, as well as our exceptional project partners Bowman Constructors and WBRC, join us for this momentous occasion! 👷🏻👷🏻‍♀️ Of course, this milestone would not have been achievable without the unwavering and outstanding support from the community!! 💚 Thanks to your kindness and generosity, we have raised $1.3 of our $1.6 million goal! 🥰 🙌🏻

Sarah’s House provides a home away from home for rural cancer patients and their families when receiving care in the Bangor area.

Sending a big THANK YOU to these amazing Sumner Memorial High School National Honor Society students for donating snacks, water, and other supplies from our Wish List yesterday! 🙌🏻🚌 Each year they fundraise to purchase these items for our Sarah's House guests. ☺️ They also tour the house and learn how the items they donate support the Maine cancer community. 💚 We look forward to their visit every year! 🥰

Sarah's House along with two other members of the Holden Business Collaborative: Kate Carey - NextHome Experience, and Bald Mountain Farm, traveled with the Holden Maine Police Department 25 Days of Kindness to visit several area shelters yesterday to donate cash, pet food, and supplies to help families take care of their four legged family members! 🐶😻 We are incredibly proud to be a part of this wonderful community! 💚

Last Friday several members of the Rotary Club of Old Town were at Sarah's House helping us move older furniture out to make room for the 7 BRAND NEW POWER LIFT RECLINERS they purchased for us!! 💺🙌🏻 These aren’t just any recliners either; they have full lift functionality to help with mobility, plus heat and massage for maximum comfort! 🥰

We are incredibly grateful for the continued support from our friends at Old Town Rotary and our guests will truly enjoy having this extra level of comfort, now available in every room! 💚

We also want to extend a big thank you to Bob's Discount Furniture for a smooth and professional delivery and set up of these amazing chairs! ☺️

PS: It was super awesome to have Stumpy the Clown (OT Rotary President Scott Boucher) take a break from the circus to make this happen for us! 🤡😁

We want to express heartfelt gratitude to our past guests Dee & Jerry for preparing a tasty dinner for our current Sarah's House guests this week! 👩🏻‍🍳💚 They stayed with us at the end of last year while Jerry received radiation and were very touched by the groups that would come in to prepare meals, so they wanted to return the favor! 🥰 On the menu: scrumptious Italian tortellini soup 🥣, homemade meatloaf, buttery baked mac and cheese, garden salad 🥗, and garlic bread. 🥖 For dessert, they brought beautiful strawberry chocolate cupcakes prepared special for our guests by their friend Danalee! 🧁It is always so wonderful to see our guests again after they have finished treatment and hear them say it feels like coming home! 🩷
