At approximately 18:50 on 4/13/26, HVFD received a report of the Sahara Inn fully engulfed. Upon arrival, HVFD crews found that only a portion of the building was involved. Engine 25 was first on scene; crews deployed a 1 3/4-inch attack line and began working the fire.

Engine 2 and Engine 14 arrived shortly after, bringing additional crews and establishing a water supply. Crews attacked the fire, pushing it back on itself. They were able to make a strong attack, preventing any further extension.

Crews then worked to extinguish the seat of the fire and transitioned into overhaul operations, extinguishing all remaining hot spots.

On Tuesday 3/17/26 The Holbrook Volunteer Fire Department used a recent monthly training session to practice interior firefighting, hose advancement, and ventilation during a live burn exercise at our training facility. We encourage interested individuals to apply by visiting Holbrook City Hall for an application.

At approximately 16:30, HVFD responded to a multiple vehicle collision on State Route 377 at mile post 23.
Upon arrival, HVFD deployed extrication equipment to extricate the drivers of two vehicles.
Using the Jaws of life, HVFD successfully extricated those involved, and assisted Holbrook EMS before clearing the scene.

On Monday December 22, at approximately 7:00 am HVFD was requested for mutual aid for a semi trailer on fire on I-40. HVFD and Puerco Valley members were successfully able to extinguish the fire, with the use of a k12 and reciprocating saw to open the sides of the trailer to extinguish all hot spots.
