Thank you, Mitch Kernodle (Eagle River Forge) & Leah Jeffery, who designed and created this beautiful metal artistry framing the sign for our new Pollinator Park! And to Sandra Jonas (Recreating Eden Landscape Design), who designed the new garden, the UGA Troup County Extension Master Gardeners, who provided and planted the pollinator flowers and led the process needed for this collaborative community project, with the support of Hogansville Regional Arts Association and Hogansville Public Library! Our community appreciates your work, time and dedication!

I’ve watched folks pamper lavender for three decades now. They fuss over it, feed it out of plastic bottles, and tiptoe around it like it's a delicate aristocrat. The funny thing? That’s exactly how you kill it. There is one specific type of lavender they sell at nearly every garden center that I entirely refuse to put in the ground anymore. It looks beautiful on the shelf, but for most of us, it’s just a heartbreak waiting for the first frost. And if your established plants are starting to look like a lanky, woody mess? Put the liquid feed down. Buying expensive tonics won't fix it. There is a bizarrely simple, entirely free trick to save a woody plant—and multiply it at the exact same time—that takes about ten seconds of effort. All you need is dirt and a couple of twigs. Plants want to grow, mostly we just need to get out of their way. I finally sat down and jotted down the only five things you actually need to know to keep this plant happy. If you're tired of ripping out dead lavender every spring, go have a read. I've put the link down in the comments.
