Please join us Wednesday, May 6th, for Bike to School Day. Ditch the car and roll to school! All participants will receive a drawing slip for a chance to win a prize. Volunteers will greet students at the front of the building (near the crosswalk) and at the back of the school (near door 😎. Please pull the bikes ALL the way up to the rack. Students who attend morning STAR can also participate -- just ask your program lead for a participation slip.

FCW Families! We have a message from Code Ninjas that caused quite a reaction at last night’s PTA meeting! Check it out:

We’re excited to share that our Code Ninjas location has been selected as an open casting call location for SCHOOLED!, a new Netflix series from Mark Rober (CrunchLabs). This creates a unique opportunity for local kids in teams of two to audition at our locations to have their casting videos shared straight to the show’s casting director.

SCHOOLED! is a national Netflix competition series from Mark Rober where teams of kids aged 9 to 17 use creativity, engineering, and problem-solving to tackle real-world challenges.
Your local Hoffman Estates Code Ninja location will be hosting in-person events where kids can come in and record a video on-site with our team to show the producers your kid’s personality! This gives local kids a chance to get in front of the casting directors alongside the official application here: https://www.crunchlabsacademy.com/

Casting Session Details:
· Dates/Times: Tuesday 4-5pm, Wednesday 6-7:30pm, Thursday 6-7:30pm, Friday 4-6pm until April 30th
· Location: 1710 W Algonquin Rd, Hoffman Estates, IL 60192

Kids in teams of two selected for the show will travel to Los Angeles, CA from June 22 – July 17 for 3–4 weeks of filming, with all travel, accommodation, meals, and transportation fully covered, plus $2,000/week. A parent or guardian is required to attend.

We are encouraging kids in teams of two who will be between the ages of 9–17 during filming with an interest in creativity, engineering, or problem-solving to participate. Solo casting is allowed, but teams of two are preferred!

This is a rare opportunity for kids from our local community to be involved with a fun opportunity!
We would greatly appreciate your help sharing this opportunity with your students, families, and community networks to in Hoffman Estates too!
