Ahh, last time pushing publish on results. Its bitter sweet for me. The results will be posted by 4pm.

I wanted to say thank you again to all of my families that come back season after season, and thank you to all of my new families! This program means so much to me, and even if I'm having a lazy day, getting to the field and seeing all your kids lights up my soul, and I am eternally grateful for each family that ran this season.

That being said, if anyone is looking to take on the role of community coordinator please let me know. As I have said I would be happy to help out volunteering, training or just turning it over to you to make your own.

From the bottom of my heart thank you all for an incredible season! I will keep an eye out on the weather on 10/22, and if it wouldn't be nasty, we may host a fun run to make up for missing week 4. Keep an eye out for those details. If that isn't able to happen, thank you all for an incredible last season.

Thank you all for an absolutely wonderful day and season! It was great running weather and the kids did fantastic! So many pushed through and improved week after week.
I am SO proud of them all and extremely thankful for such a wonderful group of families! 💚💙

As I took on today I made sure to take it all in. Every runner, every smile, and even every cry (mine included 🫣)

The Running Series has been a huge part of my life and family for 6 seasons, and I have enjoyed each and every race, runner and parent. So many great relationships formed with parents and the kids. I really have no words for how grateful I am. I took a series who had 40some kids and last spring we had over 160 kids. My heart is full.

That being said it is now time to pass the torch. If it is something that may interest you, please reach out and let’s chat.

The full final results will be posted tomorrow and stayed tuned for Week 5 photos as well! Be sure to tag us in your own race day photos or videos or share below. Congrats runners! 👏👏👏👏

Happy Week 5 Race Day! 👏👏👏

Week 5 is SO much fun. Here's the low down on what to expect this afternoon:

🏅 ALL runners will be awarded medals as they cross the finish line! We are so excited to reward our kiddos for their hard work this season!

🏃🏾‍♂️ After our milers finish their race, we will begin the Parent Mile! This race is free, but you do need to fill out our online waiver prior to the race. This race is completely optional of course, but it's so much fun for the kids to cheer you on for a change. Run, walk or complete as a family. I also use this time to tally the results for our awards ceremony, so feel free to take your time. 😉

🏆 After the Parent Mile, we will hold a brief awards ceremony where the top runner in each division will be awarded a trophy. We'll also award one runner the Musselman's Healthy Kid Award, for exemplifying a positive attitude and personal improvement that are the founding principles of HKRS. We invite everyone to join us for the awards ceremony to celebrate

🚙 Please plan on arriving at least 15 minutes prior to us starting at 3:00 pm.

Good Morning!
Thank you all for your understanding last week, I received a lot of nice emails and we are all feeling better!

This week will be the last race and award ceremony. I am out of town the following week, and I am going to discuss with the Park District about potentially doing a “fun run“ the following week from that dependent on weather. More to come on that.. I don’t want to schedule that for sure and have that the awards week and then the weather make us cancel and then the kids don’t get the awards week.

What does that mean?
Awards week is fun for the kiddos! After all the races are complete, we will have the parent mile. The reason for the parent mile is it gives me time to tally up all the results with everyone just standing around. So make sure you bring your gym shoes and sign those parent waivers!
After all the scores are tallied and the parents finish we will have our awards ceremony where I will hand out everyone’s medals and trophies.

It does look cooler this Sunday so please dress accordingly and plan to be at the field until about 4:30.

As a reminder the finish order is solely based on the order in which the kids come into the finish chute and their race bibs torn. If you feel there is a discrepancy, please talk to your child and encourage them to run though the finish line, into the chute, and stay in line and in order for future races. There was 1 bib I could not read so if you feel this was yours please reach out.

Runners will compete in the same distance every week, please do not change your child's distance.

Curious how our races are scored??

Results are sorted by overall points, not weekly placement.

Each week, the runners in our timed distances;
•K & 1st Grade ¼ Mile
•2nd & 3rd Grade ½ Mile
•4th & 5th Grade 1 Mile

receive points based on their finishing time

Our dasher races;
•2/3-year-old 50 Yard Dash
•4/5-year-old 75 Yard Dash
are untimed and are given points based on their finish order.

Runners MUST remain in their assigned race/division to earn points.

At the end of the 5 weeks, the points are totaled and the cumulative top finisher in each division wins a trophy!

🏆Trophies for top finishers are awarded at week 5 for all divisions.🏁
