Home 2 Home Project

Home 2 Home Project Our Mission-transform the spaces of the formerly homeless by reclaiming and re-purposing gently used household items and furniture thus creating a "Home".

We help families transitioning out of homelessness build stable, welcoming homes by repurposing donated furniture and household goods - giving quality items a second life and families a true place to call home.

=========
We have a new client ( #270), a mom and her two boys, 8 and 10. They became homeless due to several unfortunate circumstances. Fortunately, Bridge Communities has provided them with an apartment as mom continues to look for work, and our design lead Yvonne Miranda has been working tirelessly to create a warm, cozy home for them. There are just a few things that our warehouse wasn’t able to provide. If you are able to help, we thank you so much!

Move in 267
Leads: Carol Mysza & Lynda Rivard
Driver: Janelle Towne
Community Helpers:

Our team leads always leave a treat behind for the client as was done on this move, but the client turned the tables were turned for us. Our sweet dad left snacks and beverages for the volunteers to enjoy. Our leads, Carol and first timer Lynda along with volunteers, Carol Zaccari, Lorenza DiNatale, Kris Veenbaas, Lynda Salerno, Lauren Weinewuth, Nancy Harte, Steve Moskowitz, Ethan Salerno, Halina McManaman, and Kathy Robbins worked their magic for this dad and his two young children. This darling apartment was filled with all the comforts of home. When they left, it was ready for the Kenneth Young Center client to just bring in his personal belongings. Special thanks to Services for assisting on this move. Hugs to Lynda Rivard for the custom welcome pillow and Linda Farley for the generous and gorgeous gift baskets as always. We can only do this thanks to donors and supporters.

We are currently in need of small scale couches or sectionals that could be divided for our upcoming moves.

We have a new client, a mom with 2 pre-teenagers whose dad recently passed away. We are in need of dressers for two bedrooms, ideally white or black and tall versus long based on room size. If you have one to donate, we would be so appreciative.

Move in 266
July 24th
Leads: Sharon & Tim Sullivan
Driver: Mike Robbins

It is always rewarding to help a client transition out of homelessness into a new life in an apartment. Move in 266 fit this bill. Leads Sharon and Tim Sullivan worked closely with Kenneth Young Center and their young client to give her a space she could call home after making do with a temporary hotel room. Volunteers Liz Moore, Marilyn Cahill, Mary Ellen Kastenholz, Megan Albee, Meghn Cahill, Jackson Albee, Jeff Albee, Tom Cahill, and Marin Cahill expertly executed the design Sharon and Tim had planned for this lovely lady. Linda Farley generously prepared a welcome home gift basket perfectly curated for our client. Thanks also to Lynda Rivard for the special welcome home handcrafted pillow. We are grateful to everyone who continuously supports our goal of making the transition from homelessness a seamless experience for our clients.
