DISTRICT G YOUTH COUNCIL HISTORICAL AND EDUCATIONAL TRIP TO ALABAMA

These are some of the photos we took while visiting Selma, AL and actually walking over the Edmund Pettus Bridge, where Bloody Sunday took place. We took 11 Youth, thanks to Youth Council Advisor Paulette Belton along with Youth councils from Lincoln Parish and youth friends from and Monroe, etc.
This trip was made possible by Dr. Grace Tatem, who spearheaded the trip, and the Grambling and Jackson Parish Branches.

We also visited the Montgomery African American Museum composed of Art, walls of historical African Americans pictures, Sculptures, jars of dirt taken from slaves graves where they were buried and the boat ride over the river the slaves came over on.
It was an awesome and educational trip for the kids and adults.

Some pictures were on another camera so I couldn't cover them all.

Interested in joining our local branch see Mrs. Aleane Hayes for the adults and Ms. Paulette Belton for the youth.
